What in the ever loving **** are you saying to me right now? You haven't watched O' Brother?
I'm in the minority on that one, a lot of die hard Coen Bros. fans like I am don't even rank O' Brother in the top half of Coen Bros. flicks but I just think it's some of the finest story telling of all time.

My take on Fury Road is that its a feminist movie and falls in line with a lot of what we are seeing now with Hollywood following a trend. With that said after having watched Fury Road a gazillion times ive found a way to actually navigate it on how i feel it matches with the rest of the series and its quite simple for me. Its not a Mad Max movie, its a Furiosa movie. Much like how Rogue One isnt specifically a SW movie (in terms of the same characters) but what i would call a side quest. Max is there but only in name. Whether or not the movie would have turned out different had Gibson returned no one really knows but the movie was meant to be a feminist take on it.
So with that approach i was able to distinguish it from past Mad Max movies and realize that its only part of the MM universe not a straight take on the character. And with that Fury Road becomes highly enjoyable when i realize what the movie is really aiming for with its characters.
