Its terrible that after I clearly specified they still couldn't grasp it.
I beard one option the avs are considering. Doubtful they do it and woukd piss me right the F off, but there is talk of 3 or more 1st rd picks, depending on how Landy and gruby negotiate their deals. Fortunately, both have said what mack did, (take team friendly deals to keep the squad together) but who knows til they go down that path. They really don't want to lose gru
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
And I thought I beat dead horses!
There is nothing else to do right now. All the good sports are done. When you need a 5 min break from working....

In exchange, the Avalanche acquired forward Mikhail Maltsev and a second-round selection this year from New Jersey.
By trading Graves, along with Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson agreeing to waive his no-movement clause, the team can protect defensemen Devon Toews, Cale Makar and Samuel Girard. The Devils have plenty of room to protect Graves.

rest - https://www.milehighhockey.com/2021/...ree-agents-nhlWhen the most recent NHL season came to an end, most fans of the Colorado Avalanche believed it would only be a matter of time before a new contract was announced for the team’s captain. Now less than two weeks before free agency is set to open, reports have emerged that Gabriel Landeskog could be heading to the open market.
Wednesday morning it was reported that negotiations between the Avalanche and the 28-year-old forward had not been going well. As the day went on, more and more news broke—including quotes from Landeskog himself — stating the two sides were very far apart in their expectations for a new deal.
“I can’t help but be honest with you that I’m a little bit disappointed that it’s gotten this far, and it’s had to come to this point,” Landeskog told The Athletic. “We’ll see what happens. I’m still hopeful that we can agree on something and come to terms, but if it was up to me, I would have liked it to be done eight months ago, 10 months ago.”

Unpopular opinion.
Id rather keep the Saad father and let Landy walk than visa versa.
Graves being one of my favorite players, sucks to lose him, but seattle was going to take him anyway. Getting a prospect and a 2nd rdr back from the Saad or Teows trade was fantastic. Also frees up some cap. He was gone anyway, at least now we get a 2nd back.

rest - https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/...r-54m-contractThe Colorado Avalanche have re-signed defenseman Cale Makar to a six-year, $54 million contract extension.
The Avalanche announced the deal with the restricted free agent on Saturday, with Makar's agents disclosing the contract's value.
Makar, 22, is one of the NHL's premier young defensemen. The Calder Trophy winner as rookie of the year in 2019-20 and a Norris Trophy finalist for best defenseman last season, Makar has 20 goals and 74 assists in 101 career games, with a plus-29 rating.
Makar's $9 million average annual value against the salary cap is the second highest on the Avalanche, behind winger Mikko Rantanen's $9.25 million AAV on a six-year deal signed in 2019. At the moment, it's tied for the fourth-highest cap hit for a defenseman in 2021-22 behind Erik Karlsson of San Jose ($11.5 million), Drew Doughty of Los Angeles ($11 million) and Roman Josi of Nashville ($9.059 million). It matches P.K. Subban of New Jersey ($9 million). All four of those defensemen are over the age of 30.

Grubauer, who reportedly signed off on an six-year deal for $35.4 million ($5.9 million annual cap hit), was a Vezina Trophy finalist for the Avs last season.
Also Wednesday, Avalanche left wing and team captain Gabe Landeskog spoke to the media in a Zoom call.
Landeskog, who signed a eight-year, $56 million contract extension in the 11th hour before free agency Tuesday night, said he never considered signing with Seattle after being unprotected in the expansion draft. The move gave the Kraken exclusive negotiating rights with Landeskog for more than 48 hours.

Grubes Vezna finalist season is fairly overrated, half their games were against teams that couldn’t score to save their lives.
Flurry wants nothing to do with Chicago.

The Avalanche couldn’t keep every piece of a loaded and increasingly expensive lineup in place. On the busy first day of free agency, the Seattle Kraken announced they had signed Grubauer to a six-year deal worth an average of $5.9 million per year. Grubauer was a first-time Vezina Trophy finalist in 2020-21 after finishing second in the league in goals-against average and wins.
“He was one of those negotiations that we just couldn’t get to the number that he was at and we wish him the best of luck,” general manager Joe Sakic said, noting the Avalanche were close to the salary cap.
Grubauer joins forward Joonas Donskoi, who was the Kraken's expansion draft selection from Colorado.

McNab, 69, will continue his role on Altitude Sports, starting with the Oct. 5 preseason game against Vegas.
“Like so many others who have received news of this nature, this is a very personal battle. I’m fortunate that I received an early diagnosis and have great medical care,” McNab said in a statement. “I will return on-air in the coming days while undergoing treatment. Over the next several weeks, I may need to miss a few games, but I look forward to covering the Colorado Avalanche through another exciting season.”

Colorado general manager Joe Sakic told reporters in a news conference that MacKinnon’s positive test surfaced on Monday. Mackinnon did not practice on Tuesday. His earliest possible return will be on Saturday at Ball Arena vs. the St. Louis Blues. But Sakic said that MacKinnon is “asymptomatic and feeling good.”
“The guys are responsible and careful in everything they do,” Sakic said. “But (COVID-19) is out there. Everybody in every sport is going to have to deal with it. It’s not going away anytime soon.”
