That last Forsberg goal was so sick. Hat tip.

Nashville definitely woke up, and their heavily favored experience took over. One of two things will happen now:
1 - The Avs realize they can actually play with them. Forget the 5-2 score - it was 2-2 at the end of 2 and except for a couple of mistakes (a mishandled puck in their zone, and a defensive breakdown) they can play well enough to beat them.
2 - Realize they're in over their head and the Preds are superior.
I'm hoping for the first option, of course.
They were winning 2-1 until I started checking on the score. Went downhill from there, my bad.
Wasn't that at the point where, uh - don't remember who - had a mini-breakaway that should have been a goal? Then the Preds grabbed the puck and scored on that possession?
That was a 2 goal swing. Their GT made a great play, but I don't understand why the Avs player didn't lift the puck instead of trying to jam it in.
Once the Preds got that goal, I kind of felt it was probably over.
I checked in, they were up 2-1, I think Mack got a slashing penalty, next I checked in it was 2-2.
They killed off the slashing penalty if I remember right, then they made a fantastic push and very nearly scored but the defender recognized that the puck had gone up and over the goalie and he got in there and saved it before it could go into the goal (it was a brilliant save unfortunately) They turned around and scored immediately after that.
Rantanen had an excellent breakaway and very nearly scored on it but their goalie made an amazing stretch to save the goal with the tip of his foot and it all went downhill from there unfortunately.
They really should have had 4 points, but Nashville had two very pivotal moments that changed the game. Honestly I think those two saves were the difference in momentum between the Avs winning and the Preds winning.
Just no quit in these guys. Anxious to see them on home ice.
A good first period and a decent 3rd, with a terrible 2nd.
We have a big hole to dig out of. At this point, I'd be content to just not be swept.
We made the playoffs. Everything else is gravy as far as I'm concerned, so no complaints.
Having said that, we simply can't hang with the physicality of the preds... You can see as the game goes on guys start shying away from the puck because they know they are going to get crushed by the defensive core.
