Forsberg, 42, also was scheduled to attend the Colorado-New York Rangers game in Madison Square Garden Thursday night, then will travel to Denver and participate in Monday night's ceremony honoring the Avalanche's 20th anniversary team.
That will precede the Avalanche-Minnesota Wild game at the Pepsi Center.
"When you're voted by the fans as one of the top 20 players, it feels great to be part of that group," Forsberg said Thursday morning. "I wouldn't say I played with all those guys, but when you're with the guys you won the (Stanley) Cup with, you barely remember the bad parts, but only the good parts. . . It's only good memories, so it's going to be good to see all the guys again."

THIS ONES FOR JOHNWOULD YOU RATHER WIN UGLY, OR LOSE PRETTY?
Avs actually won with Varley in net last night. Amazing. Duchene is still on fire. Mack had a couple really good chances last night but couldn't bury it.

As much as I like to see Mac get his numbers, you'd have to be either not watching the games or blind to not recognize that he makes that whole line so much better. Puck just isn't bouncing his way at the moment. If he keeps playing like he is, the numbers will start to better represent.
And what a 180 for Duchy. Some folks going off the deep end about him early in the season wanting him traded. It's amazing what a difference a streak can make, and he's about as hot as anyone in the NHL right now.
And finally Varley had a solid performance where he stopped everything that he saw. A very good sign I think.
I'm one of those that was ready for Duchene to be traded.

Me too. His play completely dissolved those rumors in a matter of about a 4 game stretch.
Avs are 7 points behind a playoff spot and have played more away games than any other team in the NHL. They can really make up some ground if they can finish strong in their division and right now they are 3-0.
They still need consistent play from their goalie game in and out.
MacKinnon has to lead the NHL in scoring chances turned missed net shots. He is getting so many opportunities and just missing the net. He is an unreal explosive player and he's salty tough.
They're 8-8 on the road, 3-6-1 at home. Playing at home hasn't been much help. The Can lost its mojo a long time ago.

I apologize the coming loss. I tuned in.
Oh and that jagoff Yeo.
I hate the Wild.

Varley is playing pretty damn good tonight despite the shit ton of shots he is facing.
That one goal looked to be dumb luck.
Typical, we get a man advantage and less than a minute later give the advantage to them.
