Exactly how I was taught to play the game. I was taught practices needed to be more intense and harder than games (as much as you could make it) so things that happened in the games weren't something you couldn't deal with. Roy self admitted he did not have the team prepped last year and that practices were not as hard as they should have been, I just hope he's good enough to make the change from that. Preseason has been very disheartening though in the effort of the guys playing, whoever has suited up.
That is 100% coaching too.
A team with as much offensive talent as Colorado should always be one of the top scoring offenses in hockey; instead, they'd rather make a pretty pass or try to finesse their way down the ice. Landy has the size and skill to be a physical maniac out on the ice. Duchene and Mack have the speed, hands and vision to be 30-40 goal scorers and 80-90 point per season guys every year. The fact that the coaches can't bring that out in them has me really questioning the team and doubting Roy.
And on top of that, having dudes like Iginla, Tangs, Beauchemin, and EJ on the team should be a no brainier playoff ranked team.

Roy had it the first year. Lost it last year. I will hope we get it back this year. Having a defense helps the offense so much tho. If you dont constantly have to run around and get tired in your own zone then you will have the juice to run around in theirs. Plus, you dont have to worry as much about getting scored on while on the ice, which allows you to play freer and faster.
Griggs is going to pay off for us so much this year. Im so pumped for him. He looked great in pre-season too. Fast, moved the puck well. He was passing more than I want but hell shoot once it starts counting.
EJ, Beuch, and Zids and Tyson are really going to help the dline as well. If siemens can get his head out of his ass and join stewart we may finally just have a dline. Not a great one, but respectable enough. Varly can do the rest.
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

http://www.sports303.com/2015/09/24/...uncan-siemens/After Thursday night’s 1-0 loss to the Calgary Flames at Pepsi Center, the Avalanche announced that they reassigned four players to their AHL affiliate San Antonio Rampage.
Defensemen Mason Geertsen, Duncan Siemens and Mat Clark, along with forward Freddie Hamilton are now on their way down to San Antonio for AHL training camp.
not sure if this is the latest or not

THIS ONES FOR JOHNWOULD YOU RATHER WIN UGLY, OR LOSE PRETTY?
Shut out 3 times in a row now. At one point last night LAKings had a 29-4 shot advantage.
Nothing matters now - regular season starts Thursday. Roy has playoffs or bust this year. No excuses.
