I thought the same thing UR.....against Chicago where "the fans" just voted in what 5 players. In Chicago and a shut out.....then throw in those 54 saves....what a amazing game. It's time for the other players to step up their game and give Varly the help he needs and deserves.

What another great game from the boys....man Varly played amazing again. He robbed a couple of the Senators more than one. So proud of them.

Default Colorado Avalanche to host outdoor game in 2016

It has been known for months the Avalanche was in line to host an outdoor game early next year.

NBC Sports' Bob McKenzie reported that the NHL officially will announce during the All-Star Game weekend that Colorado will play the Detroit Red Wings, most likely at Coors Field.

"We're hopeful of getting the game, and it's trending in that direction," Avalanche executive Joe Sakic said. "Until it's officially signed and announced by the league, I can't really say much. It's almost there, but it's not there yet."

Default Avs trade Max Talbot, Paul Carey to Boston for Jordan Caron, future pick

The Avalanche on Monday acquired forward Jordan Caron and a sixth-round draft pick in 2016 from the Boston Bruins for forwards Max Talbot and Paul Carey. Caron, 24, was selected 25th overall in the 2009 draft and has played in 134 career NHL games, including 11 this season.

The 6-foot-3 Caron, a left-handed shooting right wing, has 19 points (nine goals) for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League. According to Boston general manager Peter Chiarelli, the Avs retain half of Talbot's 2014-15 salary.

Talbot, 30, made $1.25 million in 2014-15 and is set to earn $1 million for 2015-16, the final year of his contract, according to the NHL's players' association. Caron is a restricted free agent after this season. Carey, 26, is from Boston and played at Boston College. He is also a pending RFA.

Not happy with that trade at all.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Had to do something - current crop of guys just aren't cutting. I say the core of MacKinnon/Dutchy/Lando/Reilly will have 1 more season to figure it out before the oganization should go in a driection away from one of them too.

caron is a crappy, lazy pos hockey player. He has size and that is it. Talbot at leas would give it his all on every shift. Things arent getting done I do agree, but Talbot was not why and this guy is not the answer.

We need Blue line help and we need guys who can catch a freaking pass and make a freaking pass. All of our guys are scared to handle the puck but the worst part about the team this year is there is literally ZERO chemisty out there right now. That is why we cannot score. Our guys just arent working well with one another.

Lines need to be changed up some more and I dont know. We have a good talented team. We just cannot score and we cannot pass and we suck. We just suck. We should see a lot of good fights though!

Lines are fine. The team has no chemistry regardless of what the lines are. I actually was hoping to see Duchene or ROR traded with a pick for a top two defenseman. This season is like watching the Sacco coached team all over again.
