3rd career hat trick for gabe landeskog!!!
Hopefully that's the gamewinner too with 3 mins to go.
Landy misses a B2B hat trick by a hair, and Grubauer misses the shutout by a hair. Oh well, a good win in a really sloppy game by both teams on the road. I'll take it.
Avs looking like one of the best teams in the NHL so far with enough games under teams' belt to get a sense of it.
MacKinnon and Rantanen 2nd and third scoring.
Hopefully Ottawa starts nose diving so we get that top pick chance...
Avs with a nice win again tonight in Philly. Landeskog is still on fire and Mikko Rantanen has pulled into a tie with Austin Matthews for most points in the league. Mack just behind...
7/8 possible points on this road trip, and we get Duchene and the Senators on Monday, which should be a fun game.
Very good period by the Avs so far against the lightning. Pushing the pace, dominant fore checking, and just really flying all over the place. A couple of unlucky breaks and a called back goal keeping this even, but this really could be 3 or 4 to nothing at this point. They keep this up and it will be.
Just got home from the game. Tough loss
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
I watched as long as I could before I fell asleep. The one downside about moving to the east coast, the games are just too late now.
It was tough. That opening period was awesome and the avs were flying. I'm not sure what happened after that, but they just sorta fell apart. They had some chances, but just couldn't get anything by vasilevsky.
You don't see a lot of 1-0 games in the NHL these days though, and the lightning are a helluva team, so at least they played them close.
