The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
Avalanche’s Erik Johnson out with positive COVID test, one of 27 NHL players during training camp
Johnson is the Avs’ only scratch Wednesday because the cap-strapped team is only carrying 21 players

The Avs looked awful last night. I really don't understand how a team that has been together for two years, has a "cup or bust" mentality, and is stacked with talent can come out so flat and mushy. Bednar's post-game comments were what they should've been. Grubauer looked bad too.
That hit on Toews should garner a suspension to the STL player that clipped his head. He's lucky he wasn't concussed.

Those Stanley Cup expectations might have gone to Colorado’s collective heads.
“We just got outworked,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said.
The St. Louis Blues, those proud 2019 Stanley Cup champions, dominated the first period and scored twice in the third to skate away with a relatively easy 4-1 victory at Ball Arena.
“We just didn’t have enough guys compete tonight,” Bednar said. “Right from the start, not ready to go. Lazy habits, hoping it was going to be easier than what it was. It showed.”
The Avs struggled at both ends of the ice, and goalie Philipp Grubauer — who missed the first three days of training camp because of COVID protocol — was not on his game with his catching glove, where he was beaten twice.

Is anyone else watching? These are the kids everyone was talking about. I guess putting the 3 back together is working.
Getting Stoked
rest - https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/...y-cup-favoriteMilan Hejduk was the last remaining member of the 2001 Stanley Cup-winning Colorado Avalanche to stay on the roster. But entering the 2012-13 season, Hejduk knew he would have a diminished role. He called teammate Gabriel Landeskog and told him to meet him and then-coach Joe Sacco for a meeting at the team facility when he got back to town.
"I wasn't really sure what the meeting was about, I was kind of confused," Landeskog says now. "I was young at the time. Hejdy said he felt like it was time for him to step down as the captain, and he felt the right man for the job was me. When he said that, I was still kind of confused, but obviously very excited."
Landeskog was just 19 years old, entering his second season in the league. At the time, he was the youngest captain in NHL history (he would be surpassed by Connor McDavid, who was 20 days younger when named Edmonton Oilers captain in 2016). The Avalanche were trending younger, anyway, embarking on a rebuild. Landeskog would help usher them through it -- though little did he know how bumpy the ride would be.
