Let me correct you really quick... In hockey, a team has a RW (Right Winger), LW (Left Winger), and a C (Center), along side 2 Defensemen or (Dmen both Left and Right side..)..
I made a point about how we needed a 2nd line LW or (Left Winger).. Well M. Hejduk is a Right Winger on the First Line.. Steve Downie is our second line Right Winger.. Peter Mueller is a Center... David Jones is a 3rd line Right Winger... Matt Duchane is a top line player, along with Landeskog who is First Line Left Winger...
You don't know the positions of hockey, its not that difficult to figure out a.. If you played hockey, then you would understand what I am talking about..
What you are saying is similar to saying (Well nobody is better then Champ at right corner back, when we all know Champ plays the left side..).. lol..
Let ME correct YOU really quick. Wingers are more often than not interchangeable. Mueller is not, has never been, and will never be a Center. He doesn't EVER play center. He's RIGHT WING. McGinn will not be on either of the first two lines. He's a third liner on a good day on this team.
And I do play hockey. Have since I was a little kid. So before you come in here and try to school me on anything hockey related, know who you're talking to. You're high as a kite if you think McGinn is a top six forward on this team.
The Avs RWs consist of Downie, Hejduk, Jones, Kobasew, and Mueller. You think all of those guys play RW? Nope. If Downie and Landeskog are on the same line together, which they are, they aren't both playing right wing are they? Nope. As you so eloquently stated, there is a center, a LW, and a RW so that means O'Reilly is the Center, Landeskog is the LW, and Downie is the RW (or flip flop the wingers...irrelevant either way). So that leaves Hejduk, Stastny, and Duchene, Mueller, and Jones to share the second line. Seems to me the first two lines have no room for McGinn.
Thanks for the lesson though, sport.
rest - http://www.denverpost.com/avalanche/ci_20062032Jamie McGinn was like of a lot of San Jose Sharks players Monday afternoon: scrolling the Internet for news on NHL trade deadline. McGinn and the Sharks were some 35,000 feet in the air, using the team's charter airplane WiFi system.
Then, the news started to break: the Sharks had made a deal with the Avalanche, only nobody knew at first who would be going to Denver as part of the deal that sent Daniel Winnik and TJ Galiardi to San Jose.
After a couple of nervous jokes among the players as to who would be calling themselves an ex-Sharks, McGinn got a tap on the shoulder to go see the coach, Todd McLellan.

Kobasew should be a healthy scratch every night or cleaning jock straps. P.Mueller is listed as a Center, and always has been, since he started with Phoenix. Then he comes to the Avs and has to play fill in winger. Mueller hasn't played well since the 07-08 season.
Gab Landeskog is listed as a LW by the way.. He is not listed as a RW.. Because Downie is a listed RW, and Gab is listed as a LW, why not be on the same line. O'Reilly is our top point getter, and center between downie and Gab... Makes sense.. So you are wrong about Gab being a Right Winger.. He was never listed as as RW, even coming into the Draft. He was the top available LW on the board...

This is a link, to find out what each player is listed as.
Aside, Mueller nor Jones is proven second line material as a LW. Jones showed a flash in the pan, but he never filled out this season..McGinn is the new 3rd line winger, and Jones slips to the 4th line.. Milan fills in as the LW on the PP. This team lacks natural LWs.. Winning the puck along the boards is about the most important thing in hockey, so if you are doing it with the back side of your stick, it does not make for a good showing along the boards, and in puck battles.
Milan, Duchane, Stastny is the second line. In this line, Matt slips over to LW, but he is naturally a center.
This team has too many RWs, and Centers is my point. Not enough Left Wingers..
Hammer you have to realize players are interchangeable. I am a center, my teams best center and in my game Sunday night I was playing defense. Once we tied the game up I went back to forward only this time I played LW. Even tho im our best center.
Lando may be listed something just like spaniel or Mginn, or duchy or Jones. It they will mix them up on line combos, PK, and PP too.
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
Look dude. My point is that the Avs have more than enough wingers that are top six on this team. Far too many for a career third liner with 12 goals this season to come on to a new team and just be a top six forward. The Avs have ****** up lines right now because they have too many centers and too many RW.
Mueller is not listed as a center. He plays wing for CO. Always has since we traded for him.

You point originally, and arrogantly, was that the Avs traded for a new second line winger. You couldn't be more wrong. The Avs made that trade because Winnick and Galiardi were both free agents and Sbargossa is going to be a stud for the Avs. McGinn is going to get time on the PK, on the third line PP unit, and even strength on the third line.
And now that Mueller is healthy again the Avs have a problem. Their first line is Factor/Landeskog/Downie. Their second line is Stastny/Duchene/Hejduk. Or is it? Do you put Duchene back at Center with Mueller and Hejduk and have Stastny center a line with Jones and McGinn or Olver? Now the Avs have a log jam at forward, but none of the equations equal McGinn being on either of the top two lines.
And if my first rebuttal to your shit didn't make much sense it's because I typed it on my phone and wasn't able to edit and switch back and forth between windows.
And you're wrong about Kobasew. He is a very good PK, very good at forechecking, and fast. You probably see his stat line and think because he doesn't have a ton of points that he's worthless, but you're also wrong about that.
Joe Sacco was a career PK player, so I agree with you in knowing that Kobasew can be a good PK and not put up points.
The Bruins have Paille and Campbell
and the Canes have had Chad Larose and Patrick Dwyer who are hustle players. Each team needs those grinders etc. Just ask the Eagles on how it works with too many stars and not enough foot soldiers.
Here ya go, bud.

McGinn, acquired from San Jose on Monday, skated at left wing on a line with Mark Olver at center and David Jones on the right side. As of now, that would be the Avalanche's third line.
"It was good to get to know the guys," McGinn said. "I just want to focus on keeping it simple and keeping the puck in their end."

I saw this.
I dont really like having Olver on the jones line over Mueller. Id rather put mueller with his big shot on the line with the grinder (mcginn) and the playmaker (jones-bite me SR).
Dont get me wrong, I like Olver a lot and he is so fiesty, but I think The Mule would be better served on that line instead of the grind line. Not sure what sacco is thinking here.

The Avs have more goals against than all of the top eight western conference teams but one, the Blackhawks.
