The problem here is going to be Mikko's agent. That guy represents Mikko and Laine and will be the thing that prevents these contracts from getting done before the start of the season.

Well, the contract clearly isn't done, which, to me, means that Mikko won't be skating until end of November at the earliest and possibly not at all this year.

That wasn't a leak. The entire hockey world knows MacKinnon is under-paid and that Mikko's contract will eclipse that by A LOT.

Well, MacKinnon also signed his deal right after one of his worst seasons. 50 something points.
He was underpaid because he was under-performing. He also almost certainly bought into the "team friendly" mentality as well.
Rants will definitely be paid more... for the next 4 years. Then it's renewal time with Mack... Keep in mind how young he still is...

Yes it was. Just like when Sakic leaked that they liked Mac over Seth Jones. They leak things out for the players and public. I am not saying that no one knows that mac is underpaid. Id argue everyone in the sporting world knows he is underpaid and mikko will nearly double him.

To say something is "leaked" is to imply that it snuck out and people shouldn't know it but the information is out there for public knowledge. Sakic publicly saying they liked MacKinnon over Seth Jones isn't a "leak". It's an admission.
