http://www.denverpost.com/avalanche/...mikkel-boedkerThe Avalanche on Monday traded veteran forward Alex Tanguay and two prospects to Arizona for 26-year-old forward Mikkel Boedker, who is the Coyotes' third-leading scorer.
The prospects going to Arizona are forward Connor Bleackley, 20, the Avs' first-round pick in 2014, and defenseman Kyle Wood, 19, who was a third-round pick in 2014.
Bleackley and Wood were Colorado's first two picks of the 2014 draft.
Tanguay, 36, had only four goals in 40 games and was in the final year of his contract. He was not going to be re-signed by the Avs. Boedker is a pending unreistricted free agent.
Boedker is an upgrade from Tanguay, but an expensive one if he does not sign an extension with Colorado. Boedker, 6-foot and 211 pounds, has 13 goals and 39 points in 62 games. He is a team-worst minus-28, but has only 10 penalty minutes. He is from Brondby, Denmark.
