I know he's only 26, but where does Crosby rate on the list of hockey greats?

Yeah, I looked at Altitude, didn't see it and was flipping towards ESPN for Monday Night and happened across the NBC Sports pregame talking about Crosby and MacKinnon (Apparently from the same town in Nooovvaaah Scoottiah)...

    There it is.

Avs creating chances here in the second, and thwarted another power play.

    OK, SR, another one...

Do Landeskog/MacKinnon have a chance to be Sakic/Forsberg-esque?

No. Not in my opinion. Forsberg is one of the most physically gifted hockey players ever. Sakic is one of the highest scoring players in NHL history. There is no duplicating that. Also, position wise, they were both centers. Landeskog is a winger.

I think center wise, Duchene and Mack will be the 1-2 punch at center for a long time with a very nice compliment of wings to go with them in PA, McGinn, Landy, etc. Before season's end Stastny will no longer be an Av and O'Reilly will be back at his natural center position on the third line where he belongs.

Can they get anything useful for Stastny, or is it just going to be a lower-level prospect, salary dump?

That's basically what it'll amount to. You can't count on Stastny for more than 50-60 points per year, which isn't bad, but considering he makes $6m per year his production is bad. He's a very uninspiring player but a fringe team that needs some offensive spark might cough up something useful for him. It's the last year of his contract, the team is DEEP at center, and they aren't going to re-sign him so they may as well try to at least get SOMETHING for him. In this aspect, I wish football was more like hockey.
