DALLAs tried to trade for him but parise nixed it I heard. Basically saying he wouldnt sign for them if they traded for his rights. You never know. But next week its On like Donkey Kong.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Default Matt Duchene signs two-year, $7 million contract with Avalanche

Avalanche young forward Matt Duchene signed a new contract with the team very early Saturday morning, one that will keep him wearing burgundy and blue for two more years.

Duchene, 21, signed a two-year, $7 million contract with Colorado. He will earn $3.25 million next season and $3.75 million in the final year.

Colorado's first-round pick (third overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft, Duchene has recorded 150 points (65 goals and 85 assists) in 219 games during his three seasons with the Avalanche. The Haliburton, Ontario native was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team and was a finalist for the Calder Trophy in 2009-10. He followed that up by becoming the youngest player in franchise history (20 years, 84 days) to lead the team in scoring with 67 points in 80 games during the 2010-11 season.

Fair contract for Duchene. If he wants a long term, high dollar deal he needs to be more consistent

Pretty much what I said in my above post:

There are going to be a lot of signings this week for the avs. Im excited, but saddened because I have this feeling my main man shane obrien will not be coming back.
In other news, I have heard rumors about us making a run at sutter... Perhaps someone else, but a potential run a big name player....its speculation and up in the air, but this week should be fun, and then on the 1st when it kicks off, its always a blast.

Mueller to be a UFA. That really sucks - he had such high potential, but too much uncertainty to commit serious $$.

I read insider every day and haven't seen any rumors involving any big name players and the Avs.

That upsets me because of his upside. When the Avs first traded for him he and Duchene were great together. I think mueller will be super successful once he gets past this concussion bug

Good article in the Post about Mueller and potential big name free agent forwards on the market. The name on that list that I'd like to see most is Dustin Penner. I've always been a big fan.
