Ti is one of my face. Ge is so funny too.

Ehh he and winnick. Hope we get something good
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Default Avs trade Winnik, Galiardi to San Jose for McGinn, prospects in deadline deal

The Avalanche today traded forwards Daniel Winnik and TJ Galiardi to the San Jose Sharks for forward Jamie McGinn, 23, and two prospects, forwards Michael Sgarbossa (Ontario Hockey League) and Mike Connolly (American Hockey League).

The Avs also gave up a seventh-round draft pick in 2013, previously acquired from Anaheim.

Sgarbossa is a bad ass in the OHL...second leading scorer in that league right now. Down side is he's small...5'11, 175 lbs. But he could be something special.

Looks like the Avs are moving a bunch of would be UFAs. Where are they gonna send Jones U29?

I used to like Winnick a lot when he played for UNH. Very good college hockey player. Big boy. Physical. I thought he'd be more of an impactful NHL player than a checking 4th liner though.

Thats why I initially liked him too. He just has the look of a hockey player also. But for some reason he just hasnt grasped it, he plays softer than he should.

I haven't followed him at all in his professional career b/c he's been out west. Did he get much action on the PK? How'd he do?

Default Quick thoughts on Winnik-Galiardi to San Jose deal

Like a lot of you, I probably need more time to analyze this deal properly before bloviating here on the blog, but I’ll give my quick thoughts on the Daniel Winnik-TJ Galiardi to San Jose for LW Jamie McGinn and two Sharks forward prospects (Michael Sgarbossa and Mike Connolly).
article by Adrian Dater - interesting - http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2012...ose-deal/9847/

Hes done alright. he skates hard, but he doesnt use his strength enough. At one point against the wings the other day he did use it and went through 3 wings players.

He also used to have a few nice moves. Now it seems he is more bang in on the fore check, get a turnover and crash the net. Which is just good, but when we first got him, I thought I saw more.

I do not remember him a whole lot on the PK, sorry. He certainly could have been. I just dont recall.

IIRC he did have a short handed goal, this year. But I might have mixed him up with someone else.

Sgarbossa is gonna be awesome. I think the kid is gonna be a diamond. We'll look back at this trade and laugh at SJ for ditching him, IMO.

Hope so. He was the only name I recognized initially from the trade.

Did you see Hishon was having concussion issues. I had not heard that. Wonder what the prognosis is on him.

Well i made a thread on how we needed a 2nd line winger... What do you know, Jamie McGinn is suppose to be that guy... Great pick up, McGinn was stuck with no minutes on the 3rd line.. He starts as our 2nd liner, and an upgrade from what we had... I was complaining about TJ Galardi, and Winnik.. Then they got rid of them... lol

You're high if you think he'll be a winger on the top two lines over Landeskog, Mueller, Hejduk, and Downie, Jones when he's up there, or Duchene when he plays wing. He's still gonna be a third liner. The Avs made that trade for the prospect.
