My wife became an American citizen today after 7 1/2 years in the country. She was a Philippine citizen, but not anymore. She's very happy to be a citizen of this country now. Just wanted to toot her horn for her!

I missed this! Congratulations!

Congrats! My wife's mother is from Lithuania and she had to do the same thing. She had to learn more about civics and America than any natural born citizen!
Congratulations!

She was in a Nazi camp with her mother when she was 5 years old and came here when she was 9 or 10. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing late 40's early 50's. She had my wife very late in life (when she was 42 I believe) I'd have to check with her to make sure. She finally got her citizenship in 1998.
