    Default Wii U

Does anybody besides me have any interest in this besides me. Is it not "Hardcore" enough and just another gimmick?

I think the idea is great, but I don't have any faith in developers to really create some great games for it. I'll wait and see.

Same here. I love Nintendo but I have a hard time seeing how they can utilize that crazy screen controller. I like how it challenges developers, but what I've seen so far is pretty weird. Its like they are trying to make a handheld system that you can play on your big screen with wii controls. I love the updates of great games like New Super Mario bros though, they need to do that kind of game with Metroid and I'd be happy. No more FPS for Metroid, give me a cool side scroller with 3D graphics any day.

I think the idea is interesting - they can do a crap load with the handheld controller. I saw this video a few weeks ago - pretty kickass.

Okay, now I have to get it just for that badass looking zombie game. That looks awesome. Do you know how the controls work when in FPS. Does this thing use the Wii controls for that part?

There's a lot of videos, including Black Ops if you do a search. This is the new controller, so I'm not sure how it's going to work.

One cool demo video I saw for a golf game with that controller is where they put the screen on the floor in front of the TV and the ball was on the screen in the sand trap like it was lying in front of you. You then had to swing at the ball with the wiimote and it would fly off into the big screen. Just a tech demo but still pretty cool:

    Mario Kart Racing FTW.

We're having fun with the unit. It's probably the best family system out there.

BTW - we have Zombie U as well but I haven't played it much. I need to.

Same here, Joe. I took the plunge at Christmas because my son loves video games and I don't regret it at all. I'm going to pick up Mario Kart 8 this week. I currently own:

    -New Super Mario/Luigi Wii U
    -Assassins Creed IV Black Flag
    -Mass Effect 3
    -Batman: Arkham Origins
    -Lego Marvel Superheros

I also have a few games like NES Remix and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past from the online store. Plus it is my primary Amazon Prime streaming video device. It is perfect for a family like you said, and since I don't have enough time to play games like I used to I like how you can just turn it on and play a quick game or two. Really cool system for more casual gamers and the release schedule is shaping up nicely this year.

We do family game nights and will do a couple games of Wii Bowling, which is still arguably the funnest multilayer game of all time. Wii Bowling is an almost perfect video game.
