    Default Brian Shaw fired as Nuggets' coach; Melvin Hunt named interim head coach

    The Denver Nuggets fired Brian Shaw on Tuesday morning after a season and a half as the team's coach, the team announced.

    Assistant coach Melvin Hunt has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

    News of his firing comes days after general manager Tim Connelly said Shaw is "absolutely" safe as the team's coach for the remainder of the season.

    "I want to sincerely thank Brian for his time with our organization," Connelly said in a release by the team. "You won't find a better guy than Brian and he is one of the brightest basketball minds I've ever been around. Unfortunately things didn't go as we hoped, but we know with his basketball acumen that he has a very bright future ahead of him."

    My wife and I were just talking about this. Imagine if the Nyggets bring in Chauncey to coach we'd have:
    Chauncey with the nuggets
    Elway and Kubes running the Broncos
    Walt Weiss managing the Rocks w/ a few ex Rox hanging around as well such as Castilla
    Sacik and Roy running the Avs

    Talk about keeping it in the family
