big win for the nugs. . . they went out there with jokic and a bunch of third stringers, and clown-hammered the warriors. . . 132-110 final, but kerr waived the white flag and took his starters out with like four minutes left in the third. . . nuggies gave oakland a serious taste of their own medicine, tying the NBA record with 24 made three-pointers. . . the starters were up twelve halfway through the first, and the GS starters never got any closer than that. . . jokic had 17 points, 21 boards and 12 dimes. . . and the rookie power forward hernangomez got his first double-double, with a career high 27 points-- including 6-of-9 from three. . . it's just a regular season win, but it was a fun game to watch. . . some of you are going to be surprised by this team in the next year or two. . .

Need a true superstar. Otherwise you'll just end up being the Grizzlies.

    Yep.

well, sure. . . but the NBA only has 3-5 superstars, and we can't get any of them. . . neither can anybody else, which is why being the grizzlies ain't that bad. . .

when there are only two teams that matter barring injuries, it's kind of a tough group to crack. . . hell, the rockets and thunder arguably each have a superstar-- and sometime in april or may they'll be sitting in the same spot. . . needing a superstar. . . NBA is what it is. . .

I think there's more than 3-5. LBJ, Kyrie, Klay, Curry, Durant, RWB, Harden, Anthony Davis, Melo, Chris Paul (might be time for that book to close, unfortunately), Leonard, DeRozan, Cousins, I know there's debate on if he's legit, but Jimmy Butler etc.

LBJ has Kyrie. You have the big three in GS. But there are other guys. John Wall is considered to be a star this year, and he's been pretty good for several years. DeRozan is probably a star. I think, honestly, some guys are stars, and a lot of established guys CAN be stars/are really close.

I'd have to amend my statement, though.

    You guys got a shot.

IMO, if Jokic continues playing like he is, he could be that true superstar

For once, I don't disagree. There's a chance with Joker.

Good showcase for the Denver Nuggets' young talent tonight in the Rising Stars Challenge:Jamal Murray wins MVP and Nikola Jokic was two assists away from a triple-double.

Before we jump into an aria of gaudy stats, let’s pause real quick (especially considering we’re closing out the five-year anniversary of Linsanity) and be clear: Jokic is very young, and he’s only been playing a starter’s worth of minutes for two months now. But as we’ll see in a minute, his production could suffer a massive downturn and he’d still be among the more exciting prospects in the league.

Let’s start with the basics: Jokic’s Box plus/minus is 8.3, which is third in the league this season, behind only Russell Westbrook and James Harden, but in context of a player in only his second year, is extraordinary. It’s the third-highest BPM for a player in his first or second season, behind only David Robinson (8.4) who because of Navy service was 25 in his second season, and LeBron James.

    Get hype?

Jokic has the potential to be a cornerstone, but as was said, it has been two months. I'll feel better getting hype in April if it's still going.

Default Bucks trade Roy Hibbert to Nuggets

The Milwaukee Bucks have traded Roy Hibbert to the Denver Nuggets, per the Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Nuggets will send a heavily protected second-round pick in return.

The deal is a salary dump for Milwaukee, and Denver is willing to take the money to get closer to the salary floor.

The 2nd-round pick the #Nuggets sent to Milwaukee is top 55 protected in 2019
