I feel so bad for Jamal.

    From article on the DP:

His recovery, according to a league source, is expected to be anywhere from 9 to 12 months. Not only is Murray’s injury devastating to the Nuggets this season, but his recovery is expected to come near the end of next year’s regular season, when the NBA is back on its normal schedule.

It was hard to watch that. When he went down without contact you knew it was bad and possibly an ACL. Really hope this team responds, but suddenly the playoff run is looking like an uphill battle. Our bench continues to be an issue so losing key starters is not where you want to be!

I dodged that proverbial bullet a few weeks ago when Embiid went down. Fortunately, it was only a bone bruise for him. Just goes to show how reliant teams are on a few guys when they build these 3 headed snake teams.

The Nuggets have built their team mainly thru the draft, not thru "buy a team".

I don't think that's what he was saying.

If what you are saying is true, then I misunderstood his comment.

I suppose I could be wrong too, but he did use the word "build" and not "buy". I think his main point was that most good NBA teams are build around 2-3 star players, and it becomes way harder to win when one of those guys goes down.

No matter how you acquire them...the top teams are usually reliant on 3 bigger stars with 3 big contracts. Draft, trade, free agency...it's all the same in the end. One process just takes longer than another. And trust me...I know about "The Process"

Default Keeler: Jamal Murray’s injury means it’s time for Michael Porter Jr. to show Nuggets, NBA, he’s a superstar.

It’s time. Time to see if there really is a superstar buried deep in that psyche, a butterfly who’s been waiting for the chance to spread his wings and fly us to the moon.

The Nuggets need you, Michael Porter Jr. Right here. Right now.

It’s time. No more cocoons. No more honeymoons. No more training wheels.

The rock is in your hands, kid. The rock and a season.

It’s time. This is a championship roster. Or, at least, it was, until guard Jamal Murray blew out his left knee in San Francisco before a national television audience.

In the span of a few minutes, Denver went from the team nobody wanted to face in the NBA Playoffs to the bunch everybody’s secretly hoping to draw.

    You can change that, MPJ.

Plus although Jamal was explosive, people forget how streaky he was at points this season. Hate to lose him, but its also not the end fo the world if the others can pick up the slack.

Default Nuggets likely to sign free agent G Austin Rivers in coming days, league source says

The Denver Nuggets are likely to sign free-agent guard Austin Rivers in the coming days to a 10-day contract, a league source told The Denver Post.

Rivers, who was acquired by Oklahoma City at the trade deadline and then waived, is already in Denver, according to another league source.

The 6-foot-4 guard played 21 games for the Knicks this season, averaging 7.3 points on 43% shooting, along with 2.0 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 21 minutes per game.

Default Nikola Jokic on NBA media deserting Nuggets bandwagon: “I’ve been an underdog my whole life, to be honest”

Hey, Nikola Jokic heard that panicked, scrambling sound, too.

You know, the stampede of national pundits falling all over one another to try and hop off the Nuggets bandwagon after Jamal Murray’s season-ending knee injury.

“I mean, (I’ve been) an underdog my whole life, to be honest,” the Nuggets’ All-Star center said late Wednesday night after racking up his 15th triple-double of the season to pace Denver’s 123-106 rout of Miami.

“And I’m kind of used to it. It’s (a) normal option for me.”

For a few weeks, the Nuggets — the cow town, flyover, uncool Nuggets — were the darlings of the coastal media cognoscenti. The NBA media king-makers loved Denver’s addition of forward Aaron Gordon and center JaVale McGee at the trade deadline. While the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets were beat up as all heck, the Nuggets reeled off eight wins in a row coming out of the March 25 deadline day.

Only this past Tuesday, the music stopped.
