rest - http://blogs.denverpost.com/nuggets/...ed-back/10294/If there was any doubt as to which side of the Kenneth Faried fence Nuggets coach Brian Shaw currently sits, there isn’t any more.
“I definitely want to have him back,” Shaw said. “And expect to have him back.”
Faried was the Nuggets’ best player after the All-Star break, leading the team in scoring (18.8 points per game), rebounding (10.1) and shooting percentage (54.6 percent). He was third on the team in steals (1.1 per game) during that span.

Don't expect many, if any, changes to the #Nuggets roster this summer. Brian Shaw said as much in his post-season presser today.

rest - http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci...ill-be-good-goThings would have been different had Danilo Gallinari not been injured.
Now two consecutive Nuggets head coaches can make that claim, with the season over and the veteran forward having not played a game in over a year.
When he coached the Nuggets, George Karl needed Gallinari in a first-round playoff series a year ago against Golden State. But Gallo couldn't play because of a knee injury. The Nuggets lost the series and Karl was fired.
Karl's successor, Brian Shaw, needed Gallinari this season. Without him, the Nuggets often didn't have enough scoring firepower and finished 36-46.

i'm sure he'll last all of a month or so. . .Danilo Gallinari will be good to go for Denver Nuggets training camp
ANDThis is a weekend of reflection for the Nuggets' Brian Shaw. He designed it to be that way.
Shaw is taking stock in what worked and what didn't during his first season as an NBA head coach.
full article - http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci...s-36-46-season"Defensively, I think the biggest mistake I made was I came in here and looked at our roster and looked at the roster we had in Indiana and felt that we could play the same kind of defense that Indiana plays. I felt that we could do it with the athleticism and length at the 'big' positions. That was a mistake on my part because it's just totally different personnel. The length that they had at the guard position is different here, and even just the mentality of the guys who are out there playing defense was different. So we were all over the place defensively. Other than zone, we tried every scheme that there is out there. So that's probably going to be the biggest work-in-progress for me as a coach this offseason."

As a rookie with NY, Gallinari had back surgery http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/08/sp...icks.html?_r=0 And, with the Nuggets, his ACL. If people want to single him out as being injured all of the time, I don't remember him getting injured as much as some other players such as Lawson and Chandler to name a couple.
In the 2012 regular season, Gallinari played 71 games, Lawson played 73. Gallinari suffered the ACL injury during the late part of the regular season. I do not remember Lawson suffering a significant injury during the 2012 season, but he played in only 2 more games than Gallo did.

rest - http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci...hing-vacanciesEven though Nuggets coach Brian Shaw has ties to openings in New York and Los Angeles, he says he's not going anywhere.
"I don't have a take on the L.A. situation or the New York situation," Shaw told The Post. "I have a job here in Denver that I'm happy with. Though the season didn't turn out how any of us would have liked, I'm happy where I am and I'm looking forward to coaching a full complement of healthy players.
"I'm not interested in doing anything than what I'm doing now."
Shaw played for and coached with Phil Jackson with the Lakers. Jackson is now the president of the Knicks. Former player and Phoenix general manager Steve Kerr is widely considered the leader for the Knicks opening.

rest - http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci...mpactful-pieceNuggets general manager Tim Connelly looks at the NBA playoffs, now in the second round, then observes his own team and is confident his bunch can be back in the postseason party next year.
"Our collective group of talent is impressive," Connelly said. "Now, how do we add one more impactful piece to get us to that next level?"
That question begins to get clarity May 20, when the draft lottery takes place in New York. Connelly will be on hand for that, and Nuggets coach Brian Shaw will be the team's "face" on stage when the lottery results are televised. Barring luck in moving up, the Nuggets are slated to pick 11th in the June 26 draft.

from article:
full article - http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/stor...ing-steve-kerrSources said Jackson also intends to explore whether the Denver Nuggets are in any way amenable to releasing Brian Shaw from his contract in exchange for some form of compensation. Shaw is a longtime Jackson favorite who, after missing out on numerous head-coaching jobs, just completed his first season with the Nuggets, posting a 36-46 record despite numerous injuries to front-line players.
But Shaw told the Denver Post on Thursday: "I'm not interested in doing anything other than what I'm doing right now."
Had Shaw not taken Denver's job last summer, sources say he would have been at the top of Jackson's list with Kerr -- and conceivably above Kerr -- for the Knicks' opening.
