    Chris Dempsey retweeted Dean Hampton

Foye might be easier to do than JJ, if that's what the Nuggets wanted to do. I don't know that that's the plan tho

    Chris Dempsey added,
    Dean Hampton @bballdmh
@dempseypost any way we can unload Hickson and/or Foye?

    Chris Dempsey ‏@dempseypost 17m

    Chris Dempsey retweeted Len Nunes

We'll see. Might be at center again with Nurkic uncertain. Nuggets again have a glut of power forwards.

    Chris Dempsey added,
    Len Nunes @Mr_Len
@dempseypost how does JJ Hickson fit?

    Chris Dempsey ‏@dempseypost 18m

    Chris Dempsey retweeted John Campbell

That's was completely Chandler's idea. And I'd say a good thing for future free agent recruiting. ..And thanks!

    Chris Dempsey added,
    John Campbell @Soupdawg005
@dempseypost is this propaganda or is this legit? Good to hear you on "The Drive" man. https://twitter.com/nuggets/status/623637358160666624

I don't mind Faried, if he was cheaper and came off the bench as a rebounding energy guy.

Yeah, at least there is something to be optimistic about. That hasn't been the case since Chauncey left.

I like the Gallo extension. It's always a risk with his health issues, but he's the only potential 20 point a night scorer currently on the roster. It's a chance they had to take. If they move Faried, the Nuggets will have one of the biggest starting lineups in the NBA.

    PG- Mudiay 6'5
    SG- Chandler 6'8
    SF- Gallo 6'10
PF- Jokic 6'11 or Lauvergne 6'11
    c- Nurkic 6'11

Default Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic has successful knee surgery

Jusuf Nurkic, the Nuggets' rookie center last season, underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a slight tear of the left patella tendon. He is expected to be sidelined three to four months.

The Nuggets called the surgery successful. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

If all goes well, Nurkic would be able to have some sort of basketball activity near September. Training camp usually opens at the end of that month.

The surgery is a big blow for a player who hoped to use this summer to focus on improving his basketball skills and reshaping his body to better endure the long NBA season.

Default Nuggets free agent guard Ian Clark signs with Golden State Warriors

The Nuggets roster will need to be cut down once training camp is over. One player that no longer figures into a roster spot is Unrestricted Free Agent Ian Clark, who signed with the Golden State Warriors today, according to Shams Charania of Real GM. Clark was in line to be a Restricted Free Agent, but the Nuggets did not extend his qualifying offer this summer; allowing him to sign with any team he chose.

shoot I really like Clark. and I know we're talking about people that are going to be coming off the very end of the bench, but I don't know that Greene is going to ever end up being what we had hoped for given his proficiency at scoring in college. Clark provides much-needed shooting ability on a team that really is lacking in outside shooters

Default WATCH: Dikembe Mutombo dons Nuggets jersey in NBA Africa Game

Mt. Mutombo rose in Africa on Saturday.

Former Denver star Dikembe Mutombo donned the classic rainbow Nuggets jersey and entered the NBA Africa exhibition game in Johannesburg, South Africa, drawing big cheers from the crowd.

He wasn’t the only old-timer to play. Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon was also on the floor, showing shades his “Dream Shake” days with a fadeaway jumper in the second quarter.

Default Danilo Gallinari was surprised by contract extension offer from Nuggets

Danilo Gallinari was going about his business on a seasonal summer day when the phone rang.

On the other side of the line was Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly, who called with an offer he hadn't seen coming. He wanted to extend Gallinari's contract.

"He was saying they were trying to do something about it," Gallinari said Tuesday in a phone interview with The Denver Post. "And then after that my agent called and we started talking more about what the extension was about."
The Nuggets knew they wanted Gallinari, and Gallinari knew he wanted to stay in Denver.

"I was very fast in saying yes to this extension," Gallinari said. "I'm very happy to stay in Denver. This extension came because of the people in Denver, the fact that I've been in Denver for awhile now and the fact that I love the city."

Gallinari said he's been pleased with the moves the team has made this summer. He's talked extensively with new coach Michael Malone on the phone and expects to get his first face-to-face chat with the coach when Malone travels to see Gallinari play for Italy in the upcoming European Championships.

Kenneth Faried hears all the noise, but he didn't need to. He already knew what he had to work on this summer.

"My defense, I've focused on that," Faried said in a phone interview from Johannesburg, where he played in NBA Africa Game 2015 on Saturday. "I've been watching film on guys that I consider my toughest matchups, and I've been able to dissect them so that when the season comes around I'm able to guard those players — and become the player I want to be, and that's hopefully defensive player of the year one day and first-team all-defense."

Faried, a high-energy player, has the raw tools to be a defensive stopper. It will be up to new Nuggets coach Michael Malone to help him get there. What's new is that Faried acknowledges his defensive shortcomings.
    http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci...nse?source=rss

It's nice that he realizes he's worthless on the defensive end of the floor. It's too bad he thinks that watching film on players is what's going to allow him to guard them. How about hiring a defensive coach to work with? How about getting some help from former NBA defensive stars? Nah, let's just watch some film and call it good. Another year of status quo for Faried. I just want him to bring his stock up enough to be able to move his grossly overpaid contract at the trade deadline.

Default Tim Connelly, Nuggets GM, says team has "fully-committed locker room"

There may be no individual more interested to see how different the Nuggets will be after five months of moves than general manager Tim Connelly.

The Nuggets have been significantly remodeled in a number of areas -- from an all-new coaching staff and the return of executive Pete D'Alessandro, to drafting lottery pick Emmanuel Mudiay and trading Ty Lawson to a locker room full of players who are focused on the business at hand more than anything else.

So, what does it all mean?

That's what training camp will answer for the Nuggets when it starts on Oct. 29.
