In my opinion this is the best team that the Nuggets have had since Melo has joined Denver.. This bench is crazy good.
I still hope Melo re signs with Denver but if he decides to go somewhere else I will be completely fine with it because I know it wont be the excuse with Denver not having the talent.. because Denver is 10x the team as the Knicks or Nets even without Melo.
Vecsey says Carmelo Anthony wants to win now, play for Knicks. We’re confused, too.Read the rest @Kurt Helin

The conflict in what Carmelo Anthony says he wants is right out there in the open after the latest report: Find a way to make the Nuggets the best team in the West this season — so trade for a big asset without trading anything away — or trade me to the Knicks so I can win.
While you’re at it, figure out a way to end the recession, feed everyone on the planet and make iCarly go away.
The New York Post’s Peter Vecsey says he had three one-on-one conversations with Anthony over the past few weeks and came away just as confused as everyone else.
“I’m just like LeBron,” Anthony emphasized in the Nuggets’ locker room following Saturday’s practice. “It’s all about winning. That’s all I care about. I want the chance to compete at the championship level. All the other stuff is irrelevant.”
In my scrawny mind, that quote instantaneously eliminated the Knicks from contention for his revered services…. Don’t reach for your spectacles, you got that right; the Knicks remain a viable option. I repeat, a viable option.

either he's a complete idiot, or he thinks everyone else is. . .
melo, just shut up about winning. . . if new york is what you want it's what you want, but you may as well not even waste your time talking junk no one believes. . . the knicks don't have shiat beyond amare. . . chicago would be believable, but not new york. . .
talking about making the nugs better than the lakers is just as big a joke, and he knows that. . . what are we going to do, go get dwight ****ing howard?
seriously, if that's what he's going to say, he'd be so much better off just not doing any interviews. . .

Bret Bearup, left, has been an adviser for many key trades. ( John Leyba, Denver Post file photo )INDIANAPOLIS — A larger-than-life personality, Bret Bearup still carefully stayed behind the scenes, pulling the strings on some of the biggest transactions in Nuggets history.
But the Nuggets' new regime has relieved Bearup of his duties as an adviser, according to a source close to the team. The move puts all key management decisions in the hands of team president Josh Kroenke and first-year general manager Masai Ujiri.

Carmelo Anthony makes big statement about the Denver Nuggets front office
By Benjamin Hochman
After tonight’s big win against the Lakers, Carmelo Anthony was asked about the Nuggets front office shakeup. Nuggets president Josh Kroenke and executive VP of basketball ops Masai Ujiri got rid of longtime front-office adviser Bret Bearup, who had been helpful in many past trades – and had his hand in cooking up recent deals for Melo.
Asked about the Nuggets getting rid of Bearup from the front office, Anthony said, “That’s a step. I think that was a big step, not just for Josh (Kroenke) and Masai (Ujiri) but for the whole organization – for the whole league to know what they’re doing here, to make progress. Positive (step). They made some changes obviously for the better of the organization. That’s their decision.”
Also, asked about his looming trade possibilities, Melo said: “TNT loves drama, don’t it?”

George Karl, J.R. Smith having annual head-butting session
Kurt Helin
Nov 18, 2010, 12:10 PM EST
Every fall the leaves change color, the air gets crisper, our minds drift to eating turkey and pumpkin pie….
And George Karl and J.R. Smith butt heads. Like bighorn sheep. Over style of play, decision making, what color is the new black this fall, fitting in the system, the ending of LOST, defense, what direction the sun rises and sets, basically anything and everything.
This season Karl has an option, a hammer to use — rookie Gary Forbes. The kid has been playing well off the bench — he has a higher shooting percentage, grabs more rebounds and has a higher PER than Smith — so Karl has felt free to keep Smith on said bench. In the last two Nuggets games, Smith has played less than two minutes total. The Denver Post asked Karl about it.
“I think J.R. knows exactly where we’re at,” Karl said Wednesday. “I think right now, it’s J.R. and me, and I think J.R. should understand what’s going on. I’ve got a kid playing better than he is playing. And I don’t have minutes to share.”
This will end about how it always does, Smith will get some minutes at some point, play smart and make some very athletic plays that Forbes would be hard-pressed to match. Then he will be back in, for a while at least. Well, that or Denver will ship Smith out of town this time around. One or the other.

Im extremely impressed with Gary Forbes.. Hes very good at attacking the rim... good all around scorer but is also very efficient, he doesnt force nor does he pass up open looks... its hard for a rookie to come in and play with confidence from the start.. Most are intimidated or star struck...Forbes is far from that.
Showing a lot of maturity for a rookie... even at 25 years old.
Another Nuggets win and still no new posts in this thread. Where ya at Nuggets fans? Waiting for the trade, or just tired of same story different year?

Appreciation is appreciated.Nuggets coach George Karl is feeling the love these days, and his team is keeping the good times rolling.A sixth straight victory was the prize for beating the Los Angeles Clippers 109-104 on Friday night at the Pepsi Center. Karl likes his team, and he'll get to coach it well into the future once he and the organization come to a multiyear contract extension. Those talks have begun in earnest between an organization that hopes to keep one of its greatest coaches ever, one who not only loves his team but the city as well.http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_16774237"I love Denver," Karl said. "It's kind of my type of city. It's seems like they have a lot of people like me here. Out-of-the-box guys, a little bit crazy here, a little bit different here. The thinking is accepted. The weather is incredibly good."

This Nuggets team is scary deep and JR is at one of those points in the season where he is completely focused and playing consistent. Lets hope that carries out all year for once.
