Diop and a houston 1st rounder isn't so bad for losing Beasley and Gomez.....I'm not really to upset about this now....Diop will protect against porter and Grant injuries.....

EDIT* sounds like we get gerald green to.....he is coming off injury though prob just a filler in the 4 team deal

yes it is. . . effing turrible. . . pure salary dump, nothing more. . .

i guess we should expect that from the one ownership group in the NBA that won't even let their games be shown on local television. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Seems like all they did was sell some depth for a future meh draft pick.

I get that these guys were depth players that couldn't crack the top of the lineup but I really expected Beasly, who has good value, to be part of a Harris package to upgrade that position.

Also feels like it was to early to deal Vanderbuilt, but again, if he was packaged in a deal to upgrade Harris I could see it.

Details have been trickling out all night, so hard to get a full summary... There was some speculation that this is a precursor to the Nuggets trying to get Jrue Holiday.

Otherwise seems to have been an attempt to get something for Malik and Juancho before they walk for nothing.

Before the television contract between Altitude Sports and Comcast expired in late August, the sports network proposed extending its deal with Comcast for one year under the same terms, according to two people familiar with negotiations.

Comcast rebuffed the offer, the sources say, which would’ve temporarily avoided the current impasse that’s left the majority of local viewers unable to watch Nuggets and Avalanches games. That offer, which also included the presentation of games in 4K, a subscription-based commercial-free feed where Comcast would keep the revenue over the first year, came in August, amid negotiations that ultimately fell apart.

    From a current article:

Within the past month, both Beasley and Hernangomez had approached Denver’s management about being traded, according to a league source. Each wanted more substantial roles and more consistent minutes. The ascendance of rookie Michael Porter Jr. had muddied their respective futures.

really hoping a holliday trade is phase two of this operation-- otherwise, they just weakened their roster before the playoffs for very little return. . .

I just can't bring myself to be too upset about Beasley leaving. Guy provided solid depth, but the franchise is committed to Murray. Grant made Juancho expendable from a depth standpoint. It was better to get something for him and Juancho now. If they stand pat, they are maybe 1% worse than before the deadline -- and at least they got some future assets.

Brian Windhorst was making the case on The Lowe Post that this is the year for the Nuggets to make their move. He advocated sending MPJ if necessary to get Holliday -- I wouldn't do that, but I'd send Millsap and some future 1sts.

Porter Jr is a starter and quite possibly an all star by next year, would be stupid to trade him.

Unless they have concerns about his back longterm. But otherwise, I agree. And Zach Lowe also agreed - don't trade MPJ.

Also - I bumped into MPJ in Vegas this summer, and he couldn't have been any more annoyed by my request to grab a quick pic.

Did he take the pic, though?

Thats was my thought as well. Carol just posted the blurp about them both being unhappy as well and requesting a trade.....

We get a C+ grade but some interesting notes about being able to trade 1st rd picks and what not. This trade may have given us some more flexibility we wouldn't have had without that 1st we acquired.

Harris with a rough night but some clutch free throws. Jokic and Murray carried this team tonight to a gutsy win. Undefeated in the division? Crazy!
