It’s a strange add.
If they get healthy, chip on his shoulder Thomas, it’s a great signing. If they get not fully healthy, malcontent Thomas, it’s a bad move. It’s a fine line. It wreaks of just wanting a name, which is what they’ve done a lot lately - trying to sign Dwyane Wade, trying to trade for Kevin Love or Kyrie Irving, trying to get a meeting with LeBron James.
Also, I like Malone and I think he’s a good coach. Not Brad Stevens.
I.T. isn't a huge name signing. I don't know, he played pretty well in L.A. coming off an injury and the debacle in Cleveland. It's a one year deal for a guy who has shown he can be a great scorer on a team that needs it from the bench. FWIW, he's playing for a contract, and would have gotten a big one before the injury.
It was a nice little scoop up.
who's also bounced around like half the league at this point. . . don't like the player, don't like the move. . . the little shit better know his role, and not whine about it. . . the nugs have excellent chemistry with their youngsters, it's a dumb risk to bring in a guy who's likely to gripe about touches because he's trying to chase that mega-contract that he's never going to get. . .
Isn’t a huge name? He was the talk of the league two years ago and a legitimate MVP candidate. Whatever, man. Apparently you love the guy. There’s risk to this signing, even at this price, and one of the worst defensive teams in the league got worse defensively. So if he isn’t a premium scorer, it’s a mostly useless signing that could cause locker room friction if he’s not getting the touches he thinks he deserves.
It could also be great. He could score 22-24 a night and fall into a closer type role on a still-young team. There’s that chance too.
He was a huge name. Now he's viewed skeptically, and maybe that doesn't mean he's a big name to you, but as a star, not really. I don't love the guy, I just don't dismiss him.
The team didn't get worse defensively. He's a backup on a team that can't score off the bench. Exactly which Nugget bench player lost their spot who was playing real defense?
He was getting what, fifteen points a night for LA off the bench? That's nice scoring off the bench. He has no choice but to be on his best behavior in this situation - he signed for two million dollars for a backup's role. It's like getting T.O. on the first year.
They got off manimal and Arthurs horrid deals. Got a bunch of cap and a guy who adds a ton of offensive pop off the bench if healthy. I love this day of moves. Thomas and Malone reportedly have a great relationship going back to Sac days. Connelly is growing up
Brutal!
Lol I see you found my paid writing gig. Of course it would be dogfish.
