The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

The problem isn't necessarily that they grabbed a couple of big men in the draft, both young. The problem is there doesn't seem to be much of a direction or a plan.
On its surface, Denver has a fairly skilled big man in Trey Lyles, who is only 21 and had some decent spells starting for an injured Derrick Favors, or a 21-year old 6-8 shooter in Lydon. Neither player is bad, per se, though one is likely to not pan out as a starter. The problem is they play the same position and as the current roster sits, they're behind Faried and Darrell Arthur. And those two guys are both under contract through 2019. There's not enough minutes to go around, especially for developing players. Lydon could even end up in the D-League (G League, whatever), and that's not exactly what most of us would have hoped to get out of a first round pick this year.
There's a hole at point guard and the only viable free agent they can go after now is Lowery, but then that leaves Mudiay in limbo because Nelson would be the backup and he's under contract through 2019.
There's a lot of meddling assets on the Nuggets, not enough minutes and no real sign of a general philosophical direction.
Lots of power forwards. Lots and lots.

Keep Trey and Milsap and dump the rest.
Especially The Minimal.

i just hope that contract doesn't keep us from paying one of our promising kids in a year or two. . . it was an impatient, and most likely futile move. . . i'm assuming we have to move faried now, which is fine. . . that still leaves us heavily stocked at the four, even guessing that we do intend to play juancho at the three. . . which i don't love, because i don't think he matches well defensively with NBA threes. . . of course, i realize that defense doesn't seem to be a huge priority. . .
I'm a little higher on the signing than this. I think a solid team is shaping up and he's a good veteran comp for Jokic, who is the Nuggets first legit superstar prospect since Melo. Murray also has a ton of potential, but he has to develop into a top point now instead of a top two.
I do love the prospect of keeping Gary Harris, but he won't be cheap next year. Now, have to smooth out the logjam at PF and the lack of a SF.
I'm not huge on Jameer Nelson being part of this team going forward.
it's not that i hate it, at all. . . unless it leads to something like losing harris, in which case it was utter stupidity. . . but the move is fine in a vacuum. . . we needed a better veteran leader than mike miller's corpse, we needed more guys who play defense, and we needed a power forward who can get buckets. . . millsap brings us all those things, as well as some badly needed grit. . . we have to cross our fingers that he doesn't fall off the cliff as he ages these next couple of years, though. . .
according to this, the third year is supposedly a team option, which would help considerably. . .

Can confirm @ShamsCharania report on Paul Millsap to Nuggets. Team option third year, sources say.

and yea, i'm not all that big on jameer either. . . i want to know where they plan to play murray long term. . . i'd like them to throw caution to the wind, and start him at the point. . . IMO, we're in fine shape with chandler at the three for now. . . much better defender than gallo, and he still shoots well enough to space the floor. . .
