Good lord - he really stepped in it here. Seems like he is basically universally hated these days. Also - I think maybe there was some truth wrapped up in his critiques of Melo and JR - but damn, when virtually all of your ex-players speak out against you it seems like maybe there is a trend.

His criticisms are focused on players who have had lots of conflicts with others, but the phrases I've seen from the book are pretty despicable. Blamed Melo's "Hood" on not having father. Carmelo's father didn't leave, he died of cancer.

Basically though, Karl comes across as the *******.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Yeah - like, I think his criticisms probably based on some truth - Melo didn't play any defense or hold himself accountable, JR didn't act like a man, etc. But the way he delivered them is questionable and even more revealing is how none of his former players seem to like or respect him.

Karl has no social graces and is as big of an ******* as any player he ever coached. People act like the coaches with a billion rings only won because of the surrounding talent, but a big skill in coaching is getting the team to function. That's why Phil Jackson can never be overrated in my eyes. Karl is the anti-Jackson; no star player ever wants him to be their respective coach, and he's not a leader of men.

He should not be remembered as a good coach. He's a piece of shit and I hate him.

I hope Kenyon Martin beats the shit out of George Karl. Karl clearly didn't want to try to mentor young men who were, as he points out, 'lacking fathers'. What an absolute scumbag. Furthermore, I can list off a bunch of all-time greats who sucked on defense. **** George Karl. I hope he goes bankrupt and has to coach high school basketball to make ends meet. He's a piece of shit, and if you still like him after reading those comments you suck ass as a person and need to do better.

You know what I have a bigger issue with? Some know it all ***** thinking that because he reads a sound bite he knows everything about a person's character and life experiences. You see it constantly nowadays with these lynch mob pack mentalities about everything.

Now - don't get me wrong - it's entirely possible that Karl is a POS human... But the group think that occurs in today's media is equally disturbing.

Oh, I'm sorry, it's almost as if Karl has a long history of being a gigantic douchebag and acting like the divas he hates. So I have a bigger issue with someone trying to be high and mighty and utterly failing. He took potshots at guys for not having fathers and not being men when he can't handle any star player and no one can relate with him. He's lost every team he's ever coached, underachieved, and is essentially a grown toddler. You ever watch Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith? Barkley pointed out that no one ever raked him over the coals for sucking on defense. Kenny Smith pointed out that good coaches mentor young men. So, if you're going to belittle someone for growing up without a father, and being directionless, you better have had tried to help them as men.

He raked them over the coals to sell a book. That happens. But what people take issue with is going after a person and their family, or lackthereof to do so. Oh, and I've taken issue with Karl for years. So please don't ever try to guess what I do or do not know.

And go **** yourself for even moderately sticking up for the doucher that is George Karl.

did anybody hear how coach malone tore into his guys after that disgraceful performance last night? he finally had enough, and he totally ripped their effort and professionalism in the postgame interview. . . personally, i love it. . . he's tried to be that supportive, uplifting guy for too long, and these bums refuse to put forth a worthwhile effort. . . IMO, they should just get rid of anybody who's been here more than a year or two. . . i'm long over watching losers like gallinari and faried, and their shameful refusal to play hard, or make even the tiniest bit of effort on defense. . . they're just stealing money, put a stop to it. . .

“We have the worst defense in the NBA. That’s the bottom line,” Malone told reporters following the team’s third straight loss. “It’s embarrassing how we go out there and attempt to defend every night, and that’s something that we have to try to fix as soon as possible, because it’s at an all-time low right now, and that is a huge concern of mine.
“It’s a joke. It’s a joke. Right now, we have no leadership. We have no veteran leadership on this team stepping up; don’t hear anyone speaking, taking the lead. We have two young guys trying to speak up on the team’s behalf, which you applaud them, but we need some leadership to shine and step up when we are struggling, which we are.

We'll see how it works. I'm not too keen on his timing even if it needed to be said. He wanted revenge against Sacramento and he blows up after losing to them?

I heard the interview. Seems like players rule, coaches drool.

I stopped caring when they hired him.

The Nuggets are "quietly exploring" the market for Emmanuel Mudiay according to Zach Lowe of ESPN.
The report adds that the Nuggets are in "no rush" to move Mudiay, so it sounds like they are just doing their due diligence. The Nuggets have several draft picks that they could package with Mudiay, but they would likely be looking for a stud in return as they make a push for a playoff spot out West. While a trade seems unlikely, it's at least something to monitor as we approach the Feb. 23 deadline. Jameer Nelson and Jamal Murray would benefit from a Mudiay trade, but only if the Nuggets don't bring in another point guard.

So they've given up on Mudiay. I can't imagine they'd get anything in return since that's pretty obvious, much less a "stud."

they're right, he sucks. . . can't shoot at all, and he's a turnover machine. . . luckily, the point guard position is pretty flush with talent these days. . .

the more important story for the nuggets right now is the potential development of jokic into the star we've needed since melo left. . . joker is quietly but quickly turning into a legit 20/10 guy-- one who's also likely to get you five assists. . .
