What a friggen moron. Can we just cut the worthless piece of trash?
I don't know anything about the NBA cap or contracts.
I don't know either, but here is his current contract. I have no clue if the Nuggets would owe him money if they cut him.

Because he checked out weeks ago. Nuggets desperately tried to trade him on draft night. No takers

Buying out Lawson's contract would cost the Nuggets $25-million and change. Guaranteed contracts.

Discussing Ty Lawson on the @FanMorningShow. Just a sad situation. Good kid. Terrible judgement. Hoping he finds his way.

This is why the NFL owners fight so hard when the collective bargaining agreement comes around. Ty just became a 25 million dollar casualty. There's no way they want him around Mudiay, who is the future of this franchise. The Nuggets might have to give up a first to get a team to take his salary now. What a mess. I really can't blame the front office on this one, unless the rumors that they were asking for more than a first before the draft are true. Either way, he's probably the hardest player in the NBA to trade now.
Wow, the NBA needs a personal conduct policy.
good lord! stupid assclown. . .
Do the players really have that much leverage? There is no way they can say he isn't violating his contract.
The players have an insane amount of leverage in the NBA compared to the NFL. The contracts are fully guaranteed, and the player pool is much smaller.
I think he's still tradeable because he's an above average starting PG and the NBA discipline isn't as severe as the NFL, but we pretty much have zero leverage.
I was listening to Scott Hastings on the way home from grocery shopping a little while ago, and he was talking about Ty in reference to all of the off court stuff, and said Ty really needs to get some help. Yesterday Ty informed the people at the skills camp, which starts today, that he would not be able to attend due to travel schedule. He informed them yesterday well before his latest mess. Obviously, he had no intention of attending the camp, which I believe he has done every other year.

I totally agree with Scott Hastings that the only thing on Ty's mind should be getting the help he needs for whatever it is - alcohol, drugs, etc.

I thought the same and heard it - thought it was great.
Since you have to pay him either way you might as well just go all out and try to help him. Send him off to rehab, etc. He's going to be facing big legal problems and will need to go for leniency anyway.
Maybe he winds up appreciating the team standing by him and they can get something on floor out of it way down the line. But either way the tram might as well try to help him out as they are on the hook for the cash. How is cutting him outright or trading him for nothing and paying his full salary better?
Guy is in big trouble apparently though. Just atrocious decisionmaking. How much is a Uber to you, Ty?
