110-105 Sacremento.
I didn't have a chance to see much of it. I had the second half on, but was busy and couldn't pay attention to it. I was in between locales during halftime and listened to Koz's halftime report and the first half sounded ugly. 42 free throw shots between the two teams in the first half. Both teams were shooting in the low 30s from the field for the half.
Darren Collison is playing excellent in his first chance to be The Dude.
attended the game last night started off real ugly but turned out to be a good game, but came up alittle short. we need a pure shooter on this team!!!
They can't lose two in a row to Sacramento, can they?
And after they lost two in a row to Sacramento, they came out looking like shit against Cleveland.
Looks better here in fourth and Green is going to be a nice, nice player. But Foye is just chucking anything and everything he can get his hands on at the basket and Nurkic has huge upside, but he's still playing Euro ball (goaltend).
James isn't making a huge impact, but Denver doesn't have anyone who can guard him.
And it's nice to have Mark Jackson back....Momma there goes that man.
I was about to say Faried is a black hole in the half court offense after his terrible jumper, but he redeemed himself and already has seven. Too bad Shaw had to sit him so he doesn't get in foul trouble.
MO. . . don't hate me, but how quickly does this become a desperate situation?
i know the season has barely started, but we're off to one of the worst starts league-wide (1-5, tied for worst in the west), and don't exactly have a friendly schedule coming up. . . especially with a three-game road trip after a home game against portland on wednesday. . . if the nugs don't win some of the winnable games the rest of this month, they could be in real trouble going into a rough stretch in the early part of december. . . if we do end up closer to the basement than an eight seed, at what point do you decide if you want to start selling assets, and playing the rooks more?
I'm not sure when, but I don't think Denver is going to do anything this year. The roster needs an entire turnover, and I am beginning to re-think my stance on Shaw. The teamn has absolutely no identity whatsoever. Shaw doesn't even have a clue who the 5 that would be on the court at the end of a competitive game.
This is frustrating. Because this team is better than this. I think Shaw has got to settle in on a set group of 1s and put them on the damn floor. Honestly, I quit watching at halftime, but the 2s played forever in that second quarter and Randy Foye is just clueless in the half court.
Simply, he needs to mix and match the 1s and get Lawson, Faried and Gallinari maximum minutes. If that means running Foye next to Lawson, fine, but enough of Foye trying to hold down the Foye-Green-Gallinari-Hickson-McGee lineup. Team is deep, but it needs a leader on the floor.
i didn't watch the game, but the article i read said the defense sucked. . . that bothers me. . . also really starting to wonder about shaw. . . even if we keep losing hard, i'd just as leave give him the rest of the season to see if he can turn it around, though. . . less than that isn't fair given alll the injuries last year. . . and if we do end up lottery-bound, may as well just coast home, and make the change in the off-season, rather than let some hungry interim coach spark enough of a turnaround to kill your draft position. . . then it's just harder to get rid of him, and look for a legit long-term option. . .
i've basically said for two years now that i'd be good with gutting the roster down to lawson/faried and the current rooks, with those guys also available if the compensation was good enough. . . i would still be down with that approach on the personnel side if things are still this bad in a month. . . anyone and everyone on our roster should be available for the right price-- and i'd give up anyone besides lawson/faried simply as a sweetener to get somebody to take javale off our hands for a trade exception and a second round pick. . .
