The Nuggets on Thursday began putting some of the mountains of information together.

The drill work early in the week gave way to scrimmaging as coach Brian Shaw gets his team ready for its first preseason game, on Sunday at the L.A. Lakers.

"Now I want to see them get a feel for the game," Shaw said. "Hopefully in the next couple of days some of the better combinations will start to show themselves."

The Nuggets guard has a condition called situs inversus, which means "everything is a mirror image, flipped around," he said. "Your organs are reversed, so my heart is not on the left side, it's on the right side. And my liver is not on the right, it's on the left.

A domestic dispute involving Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson has been dismissed in Arapahoe County Court.

Lawson, 25, was arrested in August after a dispute with his girlfriend, Ashley Nicole Pettiford.

She was also arrested in the case which allegedly involved a loud verbal dispute and broken cell phones. Charges against her have also been dismissed.

"Based on our continued investigation and developments after the filing of the cases, we dismissed the cases in the interest of justice," said Lisa Pinto, a spokeswoman with the Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office.

No Nuggets players know more about what good defense looks like than Nate Robinson and Darrell Arthur, who played for teams a season ago that were among the NBA's best defensively.

Memphis, where Arthur played, and Chicago, where Robinson played, were in the top three in points allowed.

The third?

Indiana, where new Nuggets coach Brian Shaw was a top assistant.

We gonna get any preseason action on Altitude?

And complaint...so I get LeaguePass so I can watch any game I want, and so I can see teams that aren't Boston, Miami, Knicks, Lakers...but they black out the NBA network games...hello...if I had NBA network, I might not buy LeaguePass NBA...

And yes, before someone points it out. I know they don't care, because they get my money.

I just watched the NBA TV Denver Nuggets team preview. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm excited to have Brian Shaw coaching this team. He says that the Nuggets will have a team that plays smash mouth ball, and play from the inside out. He wants this team to have a defensive mindset, with Javale McGee being the anchor. He said that they started over with the basics in training camp to change the mindset.
He still wants the Nuggets to get out and run, but have a defensive mindset and become a better rebounding team and a better half court team. Early in the program he talked about how a lot of teams have scored a ton of points and have done well in the preseason, but it hasn't translated to winning in the playoffs. This guy gets it. He has 5 championship rings, and knows what it takes to win in the playoffs in the NBA.

Great, it's still preseason and he's bitching about being a backup and not getting enough minutes.

Maybe he'll make less mistakes in a slower-paced offense. The up tempo always seemed to lead to his mistakes.

Either way, still not sure how people who watch him on a nightly basis can see all those fourth quarter mistakes and say he has one of the best basketball IQs in the game.

Andre Miller is the Jay Cutler of the NBA. Better than average, but guaranteed to make you a mediocre team.

The offseason moves left me scratching my head, but maybe they knew what they were doing. Four three-pointers in the first quarter, although the shooting percentage isn't great at 4-11. That's better than the playoff series last year, though.

I couldn't possibly be any less excited for the upcoming Nuggets season. What a loser franchise.
