    Vick reinstated, can participate immediately

NEW YORK -- Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who will then decide on the quarterback's full reinstatement for Week 6 of the regular season.

Vick can participate without delay in preseason practices, workouts and meetings and can play in the final two preseason games -- if he can find a team that will sign him.

Once the season begins, Vick may participate in all team activities other than games, but could play as soon as October.

Goodell called a news conference for late Monday afternoon.

what a sacrilege. it's all about money, not image. Goodell is a freaking hypocrite, and is sending the "WRONG MESSAGE" by allowing Vick back, because all this tells the other players, is they can do whatever and get away with it, or get off on a light and easy sentence.

I had respect for Goodell, and I just lost it.

Vick should be banned for life, and I am by no means a PETA supporter, but I hope they raise holy hell over this abomination of a cluster you know what.

I wonder what he'll do with Dante Stallworth once he comes up?

well in Dante's defense, the man stopped and called police and called for an ambulance, he cooperated fully, made himself accountable for his actions, and he didn't lie about anything, and took full responsibility for his actions. And not to mention, the guy Stallworth killed, stepped out in front of his car and was not in a crosswalk, it's not like Stallworth was weaving all over the place and went up on the curb and the sidewalk and nailed the guy and kept going.

So if I such as see more than a 4 game suspension for Stallworth, I'm gonna be pissed, and I will tell you why.

Vick murdered dogs, he bankrolled illegal dogfighting and gambling activities, and THEN he lied to federal and state prosecutors about it.

So if all this piece of crap gets is 6 games, then Stallworth better not serve more than 4 Games, otherwise Goodell's gonna find himself between a rock and hard place with a lot of people.

I don't know all of the details of wht Dante was doing in the moments leading up to this incident, but if the guy he hit was j-walking, then why sould he be punished at all?

because Stallworth had been drinking, and according to BAC he blew a .126

Unfortunately BAC doesn't accurately prove someone's driving ability when they are drinking, because a persons tolerance levels differ from person to person.

so even while a person may "legally" be drunk, that doesn't necessarily mean they are drunk. it just means they've exceeded the standard set forth by the law.

so just because your BAC is higher than the limit, doesn't make you drunk.

and I think Stallworth demonstrated that by stopping, calling police, and for an ambulance, and cooperating fully, because a drunk person wouldn't have stopped, they'd have kept right on going.

Alcohol slows your reaction time even before you meet anyone's definition of being drunk. That is why you should always have someone who has not been drinking drive you home.

while I agree with your statement, i've been over the legal limit, but been able to properly operate my motor vehicle, and driven just fine, using the proper turn signals, stopping for red lights and stop signs, and obeying the speed limit and staying in my lane.

again, it varies from person to person based on their tolerance for alchohol.

I'm actually a better driver when I'm drunk.

Served his time. Deserves a 2nd chance. What he (and/or his cohorts) did was despicable, but I just really don't think it is deserving of a lifetime ban.

Say a dude misses a credit card payment. Does that mean he can never have any credit again?

    Please.

i would be shattered if it were my father, but Stallworth's integrity, his up frontness, and his full cooperation in acknowleding what he did, accepting responsibility for it, and holding himself accountable would have held a lot of water with me, and Stallworth showed ALL of that by cooperating fully, stopping after it happened, calling the police and tending to the man. Stallworth screwed up in a big way, but to me what Vick did was way worse, because Vick did what he did to make money and for entertainment, not to mention he "planned it", conspired to do it, and then did it. Vick isn't sorry for what he did, he's only sorry he got caught. Already several judges have thrown his apologies to the court out because they didn't believe he was sincere, and I think they're spot on with their assessments.

Vick is lower than the dog feces I've stepped in by accident while trudging through my neighbors backyard.
