Thread: What information, services, features, etc. can BroncosForums add for our members?

Just looking for feedback as to what changes, additions people would like to see. Some that come to mind:

• Image hosting (for sigs, etc.)
• Larger PM boxes
• A more news/blog-centric homepage with articles from some of our well written football folks here.
• Etc.

Just throwing out a couple ideas off the top of my head, but I am really looking for feedback from you as to what features or changes we should consider for BroncosForums between now and the start of the new football season.

I would like to have previous and current players pictures rotating - offense on one side, defense on the other, in the banner

I would not like for the homepage to turn into a news/blog-centric homepage. Could that not be handled in an area by itself within the homepage? I think the homepage is great the way it now, with all of the different areas readily accessible

not many forums that have this kind of requests to keep the folks happy..

When you refer to the homepage, are you referring to http://www.broncosforums.com/forums or http://www.broncosforums.com ?

When I log on, the first one listed above is the one I see - had no idea the other one existed

Tned....the only change I'd like to see that I can think of offhand, is the elimination of the Announcements Forum. It's the very first forum on the forums front page and it's never even been used.

Coupons for free beer would be nice. Those who don't drink beer, we can pass our coupons on to those who do, and those people can spend the money on our beverage of choice. It all balances out.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else that should be added.

There is one entry under it, which Tned put up when Broncos Forums was first started.

Yea, when I created that I didn't fully understand how the 'announcement' feature of vB worked. I'll move (to a sub of Town Hall) or remove it completely, but if I keep it (as a sub forum), start creating a copy of other announcements/notices in it.

the /forums page is the forum index, and that wouldn't change. Some sites add links, ads or other content to the left or right, but otherwise it's just the standar list of forums.

However, http://www.BroncosForums.com is the main homepage, and that is often what will first be linked to from search engines, and that is where most fan sites would have general information about the community, as well as news about their team.

I see that. I never bother to look in there since it says there have NEVER been any posts in that subforum and there are 0 threads and 0 posts. I just think it looks kinda trashy and Town Hall seems to be where most announcements are made. Or the new way where Tned forces a giant message to you that you have to click the red x to get rid of.

Those giant messages are kinda cool now that I know it isn't an indication that I've gotten myself in trouble.

I dont know if its possible or even legal to do this...

But every year- I start my hunt for fantasy football sites. As many have certain features that i need, but none all contain. We do have some threads with these links in them, but they always get lost....

Therefore i must always bug dogfish for the links as he has them saved. Of course i could be smart and save them too, once he gives them to me, but maybe other people have the same needs.

So maybe my suggestion or more thought, would be a links page or post or something. Something that could hold a bunch of different links to a bunch of websites that are important to us or other members frequently use. Obviously non porn sites and things but maybe:

fantasyfootball links
other football links
video games links
news links
laywers,boats,plummers i dont know. Nothing advertising so we dont break COC, but i dont know.............

Oh, I thought of something! How about a timer ticker thing to the start of football season? You had one for the draft.

Scared the crap out of me the first time he did it and I even knew it was coming.

I do think they are a good way to convey information to all the members. One of Tned's ideas for screwing with the site actually worked.
