Thread: HTC Titan 2, unlocked for Verizon.

I am NOT a cell phone guru. So just a question if I may.

I am thinking about buying an unlocked HTC Titan 2 to use on my Verizon account. Where I live it is 3G.

Some things I read online say need to make sure when unlocking for a new carrier that the frequencies are the same.

The HTC Titan 2 is for 4G and as I said we have 3G. Will it just use the 3G over Verizon fine?

I want to drop Android for a WP7 and the only one that Verizon is offering is the HTC Trophy...so hoping this can be done.

Through the net it seems if you unlock the phone it should work on the Verizon network. I just asked at Verizon though and they say it won't.

I don't want to waste a couple hundred bucks to find it doesn't work on Verizon.

I could help you root it to android, but no idea if it can be rooted and made to work with Verizon. Search around, find a forum for win phones and ask. If it can be done, someone's done it.
