Trevathan, a linebacker from the University of Kentucky, worked with the first-team defense's nickel package throughout the two-hour practice and made an impressive play when he broke up a downfield pass intended for tight end Jacob Tamme.
The Broncos are experimenting at linebacker, in part to prepare for D.J. Williams' six-game suspension for violating the league's banned substance policy. Williams is suing the league.
