    Default Denver’s Dynamic Duo

When Von Miller first joined the Broncos following the 2011 NFL Draft, he said he wanted to play Robin to Elvis Dumervil’s Batman.

The Broncos’ outside pass rushers took down their share of bad guys last year in the form of opposing quarterbacks, combining for 21 sacks on the season.

Despite tying for third in the AFC with 11.5 quarterback takedowns in 2011, Miller knows he has plenty of room to improve going into his sophomore season.

“I’m not a rookie anymore,” Miller said. “I want to start to play like a vet. I just want to be in the spots that my teammates expect me to be in for crunch-time situations.”

if elvis and the new kid are not capable run stoppers, then I would hardly consider the duet as DYNAMIC, regardless of their pass rush capabilities.
would you call, tebow a dynamic QB?
everyone is so jacked up about our pass rush, what about stopping the run?
I hope our coaches dont share the same head in the sand mentality of the salivating denver media and some of my fellow posters.
yes "dynamic duo" is a common term for two people operating in tandem, but lets not let the common clishe get in the way of reality!
Our rookie defensive player of the year was taken off the field in key situations because of his weaknesses.

"Dynamic" imples explosiveness. Two bookend pass rushers that are capable of dougble digit sacks each, as well as turning the ball over, does indeed equal "Dynamic" in my book.

The first half of the last game we played makes me wonder if we can stop anything at all....

5 TD passes in one half is downright embarassing....For as much as people like to point out how opposing D's figured out our offense, our Defense was repeatedly exposed the last several weeks.

Elvis and Von aren't bad players against the run by any means. The reason Von was taken out was not his ineffectiveness but because of MENTAL ERRORS. Did you even watch the Broncos play last year? Remember that tackle for a loss to save the game where Von Miller beat a double team of Gates and McMichael? That was a running play. You're thinking of Aldon Smith. I assure you, Von Miller is a COMPLETE football player who had lapses in the MENTAL part of football. He wasn't pulled for his weakness against the run at all.

Back to the article - I like how close they are - on and off the field:

“I know Von on and off the field,” Dumervil said. “He’s a tremendous player and a tremendous person. He’s like a younger brother to me.”

“We spend a lot of time together and with his competitive nature and my competitive nature, it really makes us both better,” Miller said.

“We’re very competitive in everything we do—cards or whatever,” Dumervil added. “He comes by the house and we’re close.”

does it get old being so ****ing sour about EVERYTHING. . . all the time??

you're also very wrong in this case. . . UA is right-- von is well on his way to being an absolute beast of a complete linebacker. . . maybe you missed the progression, but he was improving significantly against the run before he got hurt. . . give him a year or two to learn the nuances of his new position, he's going to be as good a three-down outside linebacker as any in the league. . . if he's healthy, i expect 80+ tackles, double digit sacks and solid coverage when he has to. . .

do yourself a favor and read this zam. He was hands down PFF's highest rated OLB vs the run last year.

    The sideline and goal line.......
    2- Damontre Moore DE
    2- Christine Michael RB
    3- Da'Rick Rogers WR
    4- Quanteris Smith DE
    4- Xavier Nixon LG
    5- Nicholas Williams DT
    7- Rogers Gaines OT

    Cfa- Latavius Murray RB
    Cfa- Nathan Stanley QB
    Cfa- Marcus Cooper CB
    Cfa- Ray Polk SS
    Cfa- Brice Butler WR/CB

I might even sub Michael Buchanon for Da'Rick Rogers and draft 3 DE's. Denver has exactly zero RDE's atm, Q Smith might have to start season on the Pup and Ayers is going into contract season.

read what/ that they enjoy each others companyon and off the field?
I dont resad anything about run stopping, perhaps yopu can help an old man out! I just remeber reading how we had to take von OFFTHE FIELD in key situations because he was a liability !
but this is a pass happy leaugue with pass happy media and sacks stand out.
not as glamorous as stopping a run . not as obvious to the average viewer.
so enjoy yourselves sack happy people, read the propoganda and live the dream. its the off-season, you can avoid reality for a little while longer.

so I need to give him 2 or 3 years to learn the nuances, but meanwhile he deserves the moniker dynamic?
