Alex Lifeson's guitar playing in the mid to late 70's was fantastic. I forced Estela to listen to both 2112 and Hemispheres in their entirety one day when we were relaxing on the beach with a cooler full of beer and a couple of left handed cigarettes.
    Rush is always acceptable.

Steven Wilson's Hand.Cannot.Erase. is sitting atop the rateyourmusic poll for 2015. Well-deserved! If you have a surround sound system, I highly recommend picking up the Blu-ray. One of the best surround mixes of an album I have heard. Also nice to see The Neal Morse Band, Beardfish and Blind Gaurdian in the top 20 as well.

    Chris Squire died.

There was a stage in my life when I listened to a lot of Yes. Especially their older albums. Great bass player. His music will live on.

A belated thanks to Pulse, who gave me a heads up on Steven Wilson playing in Albany. I took my 14 year old daughter to the show, both of us were blown away. She now sports her "Hand. Cannot. Erase" hoodie regularly

Excellent. We are researching more effective wrinkle-cream formulations, and are quite optimistic that we will be able to present her as a fresh young agent of change

I'm not going to discuss my personal parts with you in this place, Sir. This is a thread about grand old overwrought music, mostly from the 1970's

Check this out. The song, Routine, is from Steven Wilson's latest album, and in its original form is done as a duet with Israeli singer Ninet Tayeb. I think it is the most hauntingly sad song I have ever heard in my many years, and utterly beautiful. This version of it is done as a solo by Ninet Tayeb

Tayeb is the new PJ Harvey. Wilson is just magnificent Wilson.
