My son is awesome.
He had a small hairline fracture on his thumb so he had a cast for two weeks and missed four of his little league games because of it. Well tonight was his first game back and he went 4-4.
I should also mention he is the youngest kid on the team and probably the youngest kid in the entire league. He had to turn 8 by May 15th to even play in the league, which is an 8 to 12 year old league, he turned 8 on May 6th.
I'm so proud of him. He's always shown a natural ability at baseball especially with a bat. He's been hitting pitches I've been throwing to him since he was three years old. He fell in love with baseball in 2007 as he and I watched almost every game of the Rockies late season run the the World Series.
I have to watch myself and not push him though because that's how you can ruin a sport for a kid. So when we practice and play in the yard or at the park it's all about fun. I coach him up a little but if I sense him starting to get frustrated or pull away I just move to something fun.
Anyway, I just wanted to share.
