    A single falling flake,
    Falling, falling down.
    Staining deep into the ground.

    A solitary speck,
A pure white thing, a precious cold
    Not weak, but bold.

    Echoes of a floating leaf,
    Bare, naked trees,
Stiffened in the cold, cold breeze.

    So many of its peers,
    Dot the air, the ground,
    Melting slowly without sound.

    Gentle,
Forgiving so soon, forgotten as fast,
    It cannot, will not last.

    A blanket on the ground,
Wrought upon the dirt, the land,
Whiter than even the blankest, Caribbean sand.

    Fear

Don’t cry to me, little child
    I feel not your pain
    I have no face
    I have no touch

    Have not heart in me…
    This cold,
metal weapon: I have only such,
    trembling in my hands.

I fear nothing as you do
    Owner of this virgin trigger
    Here we stand.
    Your innocence beyond

    Your brimming, fearful tears,
    And my brewing, nervous sweat,
    Ripples in a timid pond
    We’re nothing alike

Do not listen to the screams
    Feeling only what you fear
I can’t help you with your cry
For I am nothing like you

    The Tear

A tear rolls down his cheek,
Cutting, cleansing, the dark grime of war,
Suddenly his body, his mind, turns weak.
The battle a distant, hectic roar,
A tear rolls down his cheek.

    The dirt, the mud,
    The tears, the hate,
    The sweat, the blood,
    All washed away,
As a tear rolls down his cheek.

    He falls to the ground,
Immersed in sorrow, immersed in pain,
A pain so real, a pain profound,
And as the pain and hate pump through his veins,
A tear rolls down his cheek.

    The man now broken,
    Hands to his face,
    His fears awoken,
His heart picks up its pace,
As a tear rolls down his cheek.

His mind brought back to his home,
Of serenity and now his hopes and dreams.
    Now he stands alone,
    Grasping at their screams,
And a tear runs down his cheek.

He sees the girl he knew,
    Within her eyes, a sadness,
He eyes his hands and knows it can’t be true,
But sees the truth, in her floating dress,
And a tear rolls down his cheek.

    For when he reaches out,
    To hold her hand,
To take her from the rout,
He falls to the scorching sand,
A tear rolls down his cheek.

Eyes closed to the world around,
His heart beats on, to his gloom,
His hand, his glare, rests on the ground,
He ponders the death that looms,
As a tear rolls down his cheek
    The death he ponders,
Perhaps a field of green waits,
One the girl in his heart wanders,
Where for he she sits and waits,
As a tear rolls down his cheek.

He stands and eyes his sword,
The sword of he who weeps,
    Notches in his blade,
The count of death he keeps,
A tear rolls down his cheek.

His tear, now full of grime,
    Falls from his face,
    Removing the blood, the crime,
    But this he can’t erase,
Still, the tear falls to the ground.

He sees another man, with different eyes,
    They are big and blue,
But had seen just as many cries,
    As the weeping man knew,
And a tear rolls from his eyes.

But the blue eyed man levels his blade,
And the weeping one can only stand,
His chin raised high, his decision made,
    Looking to a better land,
A tear rolls down his cheek

here's one about football... wrote it after our season last year...

    Next Year

But it all was for naught
    As I rose,
    Victorious in my mind.
    The sweetest triumph, was
but a battle, not a war.

    As the momentum fell
    Crushing hopes and dreams,
    That carried on their shoulders,
    To my somber screams,
As the enemy, riding upon my hate, so soared

The adversary, black knights from evil kingdom come,
    Sought to conquer all.
    Unsettling the now listless soldiers
    I have come to love.

Like to me join me in this so seen endless fall.
And with heavy heart do I watch others succeed where mine have fell,
Might I find rejoice in watching those unconquered try and fail.
    But this does not occur,
for no my heart is left to burn,

Burn as if the flames of scorching torches riot in my heart.
But to this heart I cannot tell,
That die hard is not quite true.
But a heart, ceasing to quit, believes it so.
And as I venture through an anguished ride,
    I find a stinging blow.
    Next year, maybe.

    I stare
    Glare
    Up at God’s bright sky
    Waiting for cover, shelter, storm
But with no relief in sight
All I see is cloudless blue and endless blinding sun.

    Blood trips
    Drips
Down my cheeks like summer rain
Warm and soothing, kind and clean
Washing memory and sin from skin and soul
And leaving just the taste of bitter iron on my tongue.

    Default for Luke

    void

    dimensions

    dot, squiggle, blob, shapeshift

    forms in the void

    dimensions

    i occupy

    breathe, breathe, BREATHE!!!

never again will death be so well understood until death but I will never understand

yes! I am an errant spark of life in the void!

in my void I see no boundary and only darkness, but I see the light I emit

the forms in the void I see, I can tell they are sparks too, but I cannot see their light

no matter how close I get to another spark, I cannot touch it

    there is always void between

I should have dedicated that one to you instead of my son...you and prisontubbers, sparks in the void...

Hey Hawg, here is one I did a year or so ago. I don't know. I think I was depressed.

    A Stitch In Time

At night I watch their faces,
    Chasing after unattainable dreams,
Exhausting all options, ways and means.
What a tragedy living in such madness,
    Riding waves of infinite sadness,
Often filled with tainted smiles and absent gladness,
Whose bewilderment could fill the tallest of glasses.

    They try to escape reality,
    Where practicality becomes triviality,
And even the easiest of answers hold duality.
Their voices lack words and their lips are muzzled,
Just holes for eyes and faces puzzled.
Chests opened like presents; absent of hearts,
Thoughts working like clockwork with broken parts.

They walk down the longest roads,
Passing each other by as their feet erode.
    Where to – nobody knows.
Curiously wondering where is the show,
I’m handed a mirror and told to see,
That inside these people are dead like me.

you are about as sh|tty a poet as me

i was hanging around with this goth redhead chic that ate me up a while back (a while back becomes relative after some years) and wrote a shitload of poems about her on a pad of Prozac (R) notepaper i ganked from her. i could never figure out how to use language and still can't.

    anyway, it wasn't awful

    Hawgdriver Love Song

    Hawgdriver,
    Touch me slowly.
    Under the sheets,
    Let's play rollie-pollie-o-lay-me.
Give me kisses on the cheeks,
    A squeeze of my hand,
    Please call me your baby,
    I want you now Hawg,
    Give me your gravy.
You don't have to be savvy,
    Just grab me.
    Take me below,
    You know I'll blow.
    Let's go, go, go.
    And once we're done,
    There goes your wallet,
    And there I go.
    ADIOS!
