Is it just me or do they seem to have Week 1 later, and later every year? Pretty soon we will be opening in October.

    Default Updated 2009-2010 NFL Calendar

    NFL Calendar By Adam Caplan
    Senior NFL Reporter
    Posted Jun 12, 2009

The NFL has updated their calendar of events for the next 12 months or so and they have made some adjustments to some important dates.

    Updated 2009-2010 NFL Calendar

    July

    7/16 - Supplemental Draft

    Late-July - Training camps open.

Teams must be at their 80-man roster limit before the start of camps.

    August

8/9 - Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, Canton, Ohio (Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans).

    8/13-8/17 - First preseason weekend.

    September

9/1 - Roster cutdown to maximum of 75 players.

9/5 - Final roster cutdown to maximum of 53 players.

    9/10-9/14 - Kickoff 2009 Weekend.

    October

10/12-10/13 - NFL Fall Meeting, Boston, Massachusetts.

This becomes a very important meeting as the NFLPA and NFL are trying to get their CBA completed for the next term.

    10/20 - Trading deadline.

10/25 - International Series, London, England (New England Patriots vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

    2010

    January

    1/3 - Regular season ends.

    1/9-1/10 - Wild Card Playoffs.

    1/16 - 1/17 - Divisional Playoffs.

    1/24 - Conference Championships.

1/31 - AFC-NFC Pro Bowl, South Florida (ESPN).

    February

2/7 - Super Bowl XLIV, South Florida (CBS).

2/24-3/2 - NFL Scouting Combine, Indianapolis, Indiana.

This is a little late for the combine. It usually is completed before February ends.

    March

    3/5 - Free agency begins.

Free agency usually starts on the last day of February, so it's starting a little later than usual.

3/21-3/24 - NFL Annual Meeting, Orlando, Florida.

    May

Early May - NFL Draft, New York City.

This is the first time that we recall the draft taking place in May.

5/24-5/26 - NFL Spring Meeting, Dallas, Texas.

The league likes to have this meeting around where the next Super Bowl will be held.
