Default Elway Explains the Slide Down the Draft Board

Good interview with Elway concerning why the Broncos traded back twice last night. EFX are concentrated on staying true to their board.

I think Denver initiated both trade downs because they didn't get great value with either trade. Essentially, they moved down from 25 to get the 36th and an extra 4th. That's not really adding much.

Not that the strategy upsets me. They save money not paying for a first-rounder. They have needs all over the place and I think there's a good chance they'll parlay a 4th and another pick into a 2nd or 3rd, giving them four picks tonight.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

I don't see how anyone can be that upset. My #1 hope and another of my top 5 hopes were both taken with picks Denver owned last night. I was obviously very disappointed, but just cuz I like someone, doesn't mean that EFX likes him. MANY mocks had us taking Worthy at 25. Some has us w/ STill. Both are still on the board. Of the options listed in this article, I like em all but the WRs. Gimme Lamar Miller, Still, Worthy, Reyes, Upshaw or David and I'm a happy camper.

Was surprised to see just now that SI rates Reyes higher than Worthy or Still. Hmmmm.

He's who I had at 25 in my mock. I like him better than both of them as well. But we cant be disappointed if we get either of the 3. Hayward with the later 2nd

So it's going to be Fleener at 36 followed by Osweiler at 57...

I like both players but would not be crazy about it at this time. I really want defense first and foremost.

PFT just put up a 2nd round mock that has the Broncos taking Still at #36 and Heyward at #57. I'd take that!

BUT...if Worthy did drop as far as 60, could you imagine a Still AND Worthy round 2. These fans may finally have sumthin positive to say...

I think Fleener would be a great addition to this offense and Manning...but we may have added the TEs "for now" with the two FA's and move on to another position.

Yeah if we got Still and Worthy, I think I might be inclined to cut EFX some slack....

I just don't think Fleener would be a contributor right away and that's really what we need with our top 3 picks. I strongly doubt he'd be able to beat out Tamme or Dreessen which puts him #3 at best. Seriously, how many 3 TE sets are we gonna use? Even NE doesn't do that...

If I remember right, Worthy was taken late in the 2nd round and Reyes was still on the board! Wow, go gettum EFX!!!
