Fleener is from Lemont, IL. He was Andrew Lucks favorite target. this info is from my nephew who resides in the aforementioned town. I wouldn't mind seeing him become Peyton Manning's

I would be disappointed if Denver drafted a TE in the 2nd, especially after drafting 2 last year and then signing 2 more in the off season.

Not that the strategy upsets me. They save money not paying for a first-rounder. They have needs all over the place and I think there's a good chance they'll parlay a 4th and another pick into a 2nd or 3rd, giving them four picks tonight.
If they get a player in the 2nd round, which they would have taken in the first round - it would be dumb not to save money doing that.

our team the broncos, desperatly NEED,
    an ILB
    a Safety
and a RB, as well as a DT !
afdter having 2 opportunities to pick in the FIRST round, the broncos have done NOTHING to fill any of those needs!
nothing ! explain it all you want, if JMVCD was in the war room, we would be calling for his HEAD !
'nobody we liked", says john come lately?
well both the pats and the bucs are being PRAISED for moving up to take an ILB and a RB in the positions we gave away !
    we look stoopid !
My Broncos, since 1960 , but I am happy to share.
Go Broncos , JFE and PFM, win the FSB !

The praise of Belichek is because it's Belichek not because it was an intelligent move. Coach has outlined that extensively today.

EFX must be higher on Mays then we think. He sucks in coverage but good against the run. IMO he takes horrible angles and tends to miss tackles. I wish Hightower/martin would have been picked but o well. Time to see who we get. If they were set on Worthy the entire time then I think we got an extra pick and moved up the 4th rounder nicely if we do end up getting him.

    Draft Wish List
    1) J. Williams, DT Bama 2) R. Swope, WR, T A&M
    3) DJ. Swearinger, S Bama 4) M. Lattimore, RB SC
    5) T. Mathiu, LSU, CB/S 6) NONE
    7) M. Mauti, ILB Penn St.

Not to mention, Belicheck has proved to be a BAD drafter. Not like the guy hits a lot of home runs. Especially at drafting LBs.

Suddenly he was a genius today. I couldn't figure it out. He's drafted terribly for about four years, outside of a few picks here and there. Now they have three starting mike linebackers and a terrible secondary, in a deep draft for corners. Plus he has no pass rush, and picked a real project to try to fill that void. So far, I've been a little baffled by his drafting.

Yeah, coach brought this up as well. Really, the draft makes no sense for their team, which is weird. To draft a Mike when that was NOT one of their positions of need, and then a DL that doesn't exactly give them the pass rush they absolutely need.

NOW... One thing going for them, is that their defense was so bad, that ANY defensive players taken is probably an upgrade.... AND... Belicheck is probably the greatest defensive mind in all of the NFL's history. So I'm certainly not going to say it was wrong considering his defensive back-round. But Bill has missed a LOT with defensive picks, so I'm not going to say they are "good" purely because its Belicheck, eithere.

Well this is also a learning experience for Elway, only his 2nd draft. He is a smart dude wont take very long to learn. But it will take some time.

Yes and no. He's had time in the war room before, and of course has always been involved. But, like you said, everything takes time to perfect. No way Elway makes all the right moves and never makes a mistake. But, as of right now, its hard to say anything is a mistake without giving time to see how things unravel.

I think Belichek is starting to run into the same problem Shanahan did with offensive draft picks. And that was mistaking his coaching genius for scouting genius, and not necessarily letting your team of scouts and pro personnel help you. Shanahan's problems continue to this day. I would put Belichek ahead of Shanahan in terms of scouting, but I think they're close when it comes to coaching abilities, just on different respective sides of the ball.
