Civility is civility, whether it is on the Internet, in school, at work or at the mall.

me too. and with this kind of offseason i figured i might as well just turn off my emotions as far as this team is concerned, or at the least try to.

That truly sucks, 'cos she truly is a lady, and a fine one. Think about what it says that someone who likes KC that much is liked that much around here. I hope whatever it is is temporary and not too serious or stressful for long, that all's well that ends well. If anyone talks to her regularly outside the boards please let her know she'll always have a vocal cheering section here. Probably the first and last time a KC fan will get one of these from me:

And FWIW, I was on sabbatical, changed and distracted by life--never retired. Tned's made too good a site for that, and I know too many people here who've somehow made it better still.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

I personally don't understand why anyone would ask to have their account here retired. However, we've had a whole group here lately that all decided to do so, and it saddens me that all of them are gone.

I think that somehow we all take this internet message-board stuff way too seriously, and not seriously enough all at the same time. It's not taken seriously enough and the result is that people get their feelings really hurt, and then, once feelings are hurt it gets taken all to seriously. Result: in the space of a couple days 5 people ask for their accounts to be retired. All five got their feelings hurt for various reasons and seriously don't want to be here anymore.

Its a shame. But it's their decision, and I'm not going to go begging any of them to come back, it just increases the unecessary drama. They made a choice, and specifically asked for this. We should all respect their decision.

Sometimes it's important to remember that there are real people with real feelings behind the keyboards and usernames....
