- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
McShay now has us taking Ayers at 12 too....I just dont see it.
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
Charley Casserly frequently traded for future-year picks and, in his mind, you can subtract a round for each future year that a pick was traded. So, a second-rounder in 2010 is really the value of a third-rounder in 2009.4. I think, traveling across the state of Missouri by car Thursday afternoon and listening to Sirius XM NFL Radio, I was stunned to hear the negative fan reaction to the Tony Gonzalez trade for a 2010 second-round pick.
The Chiefs, last year, couldn't get anything better than a third-rounder (and a late-third-rounder, obviously, if it would have been coming from the Eagles) in an offer for Gonzalez. And now they get a two, albeit in 2010. Sounds likes a good deal to me for a player in his 13th year, at age 33.
So while Chiefs fans bitched about offers to trade Gonzalez for a third last year, Pioli essentially traded him for a third anyway - just a year into the future.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
Hell to the No.
I don't hate Ayers. Dude is a leader and reminds me a lot of Lamar Woodley when he came out of Michigan. has the same size, tools, etc. I just don't see how he has skyrocketed so far. Dude will be a solid pro, but at #12? I'm a HARDCORE Vols fan and I dunno...

Without a doubt. Like I've said before, we still need our big OLB to compliment the pass rusher. I don't think he can be the pass rusher that we need (although he will be ablt to get there) and I think Sintim is more well rounded to play the run and rush the QB. Ayers in rd 2...or if we traded back to #29 w/ Giants I could see...but not at 12. Too risky.
