Default Assassin's FINAL (I promise) mock

After doing a lot of listening to and reading a lot of the "experts'" off-season speculation , as well as researching Fox's past draft practices and Manning's offensive structures, I've comprised my final mock draft. I have no secondary players being taken here. With our recent signings and the expected improve health of some of our younger DBs, I feel that we can stand pat with what we have. I have addressed the other 2 levels of the defense. I'm not buying the peculation that we take a QB. I dunno why we would. It's a bad class and we have backups. PM's heir apparent is not in this group. SO here it is...

    ROUND 1
    LAMAR MILLER, RB, Miami (FL)
    5'10" 212

With Lammey's recent tweets about Denver looking at RB before DT, itgot me thinking. 1-Manning's offenses are best when he has an Edgerrin James. We don't have that. Additionally, both the Colts and Panthers have drafted RBs early when many didn't see it as a huge need. W/ the level of control PM had in INdy, I believe he had a say in when he would get new toys. I prefer Doug Martin, but Miller may be a better fit in the O PM is used to running. Elite athelete and another in the long line of "U" RBs.

    ROUND 2
    MIKE MARTIN, DT, MICHIGAN
    6'1" 306

Obvious need here. I really like Martin over the other likely options in Winn, Thompson, etc. He's a gamer and strong at the point of attack. Love his tenacity.

    ROUND 3
    SEAN SPENCE, OLB, Miami (FL)
    5'11" 231

Spence fits the mold of a John Fox LB. Small and athletic. With DJ's suspension looming, we'll need depth at OLB and he would be a nice addition to the special teams.

    ROUND 4A
    MICHAEL BREWSTER, C, Ohio State
    6'4" 312

Very solid C who will push for Walton's job. Played vs very strong competition at DT in the Big 10...Worthy, Martin, Still.

    ROUND 4B
    CHRIS GIVENS, WR, Wake Forest
    5'11" 198

Very good route runner who played all WR positions in college. Great hands and good speed. We have 2 big strapping WRs and could use another litle guy who will catch everything PM tosses his way.

    ROUND 5
    MALIK JACKSON, DE, Tennessee
    6'4" 285

Offers position flexibility along the DLine. Played DT at Tennessee, but projects as DE in the NFL. Very productive as a VOL and saw many double teams. He's a baller.

    ROUND 6
    JOSH KADDU, OLB, Oregon
    6'3" 240

Another athletic OLB and ST option.

Nice. I like the Brewster pick. A lot (think Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber).

makes sense. . . i still think cordy glenn or mike adams are the most probable picks at 25, but clearly RB is going to be a target. . . this looks a lot like what i think our eventual draft is likely to be. . .

Except for Spence I like it... Givens & Jackson may miss your slots by a few picks but whatever... No problem with Kaddu in the 6th but don't see any way he lasts...

Kendricks is a no brainer because of his speed but Spence doesn't have that... both Woody & Mohamed are faster. I think WW/Mohamed can fill in just fine until DJ gets back, no need to panic. At 87 I'd prefer bpa regardless of position, most likely WR or DB if we've already picked RB & DT.

Mike Martin may run a sub-5.0 but he sure as hell doesn't play like it, I see a lot of hustle but nowhere near as quick as you'd expect a player his size.......

If we pass on tackle at 25 I'd rather nab Taamu. Huge upside

I would rather take Martin at #25 then Miller. Miller could be at #57. Running backs always slip.

Since we only have porter on 1 year contract and might no draft a CB this year. I WANT CB Mathiu from LSU next year in round 1. trade up for him, just do it.
