Finally had a date night with the wife a few nights ago and managed to get a great pic of us before just after dinner and before a trip to a few bars and a concert. I can't drink without quite as many consequences as I used to but I gave it a good shot!:
My girl singing Friday Night at the Albany Art and History Museum
“What fresh hell is this?”
"A man who picks a cat up by the tail learns something which he can learn in no other way." - Mark Twain
That's amazing dread.
All three of my daughter's think they can sing like that - but they can't lol!
Did the Spartan Military Sprint a week ago today at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs and they are starting to post pictures of it on their site. Went with a team of 3 of my friends and had a great time, though I was exhausted at the end:
Very sexy shake. Is this your first event like this?
Have you done he mudder?
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
I did Tough Mudder 2 years ago, and even though that one was longer I found this one to be much tougher to do. Mostly because you could fail an obstacle at Tough Mudder and just move on (or skip it as I saw others do) without repercussions. Here if you messed up an obstacle it was a mandatory 30 burpees which really taxes you after awhile. Plus they really set up the course to play up your weaknesses, like they would do 2 grip strength obstacles in a row and then shock you with some water/mud obstacle followed by ANOTHER grip test like a rope climb when you were exhausted and wet. Luckily one of my friends does these all the time and had good tips like the Marine-style rope climb where you can rest your body weight on the slack of the rope and pull up pretty effortlessly.
Oh sweet. That is exactly what I was wondering, how they compared. I think we compared notes a few years back didn't we? That when I did the mudder too. As soon as my shoulder is 100% I'll have to check this one out. I thought the mudder was easy.
Burpees suck.

Yes Burpees suck, I ended up doing 90 (failed the monkey bars at the end, a wall traverse when I slipped, on my foot hit the water on the rope swing). Tough Mudder was easier but I would never do that one again because I hated getting shocked and blasted with a water canon!
EDIT: Just for reference this was a Sprint but they also do a Super and Beast version. The Sprint I did was just under 6 miles and had 22 obstacles. Each version is a little longer with more crap to do and most people try to get the trifecta in a given year. For each one you do you get a medal of the race you did and a piece of the trifecta medal. It felt like getting a piece of the triforce in Zelda.
