The lower looks like a Greek symbol for loser.
Here’s my story.
First of all, I am a Deaf person and fluent in American Sign Language.
My personal barbershop closed for a week. Sports clips are my second choice. I attended Sports Clips for haircuts. After my haircut, I recognized a barber’s memo on barber’s workstation. I didn’t know they keep the customers' haircut preferences in their database. I read this memo and I was scoffing loudly to barber. One of stylists labeled me as "MUTE" and other stylist said, "HE CAN'T TALK" on the same memo. WTF?! I had a brief conversation with their manager. I told him that his employees have IQ of 54. I showed this memo to him and he got embarrassed. I had to educate them and asked them to change it to the right word. I told them, “Deaf is a beautiful word to use! They can communicate me by using gestures, notebook, or text messages on iPhone." The manager was embarrassed and I got a free haircuts coupon for my next visit. Yup, I got the balls to do this right. WTF is wrong with today's society? Heh!
I'm sorry that you had to personally educate these people - but it's good you did.
Side note: sports clips blows. I've gone a couple times and had lackluster experiences both times... It turns out that I don't really need to watch ESPN classic for the 15 minutes it takes to get my hair cut.
Being bald FTW!! I just head to the garage and use my trusty clipper.
Don't have to put up with this BS.
