But Giant opened a flagship store spitting distance from my house and felt obliged to reward that...plus, when I took that TCR for a test ride, it felt like a freaking rocketship. Hard to explain, felt like a sports car, I nearly crashed going 23 around a corner it felt so damned capable.

I love that bike and dropping that kind of money on it made me feel like I had to put tons of miles on it, which I have.
Ouch. That's a lot of splurge on a bike for me. However, you bring an interesting thought, if you spend it you'll be more inclined to get the usage out of it.

I wear Oakleys. I used to wear cheap crappy sunglasses and didn't care about them. They'd be scratched up in days, lost, sat on, etc.

At $20 a pop it wasn't a big deal. I spent $140 on a nice set of Oakleys and they lasted almost a decade!

Sometimes the value proposition is that you'll feel obligated to do more with or take better care of something you spent more on.

    LOL!

I've had the exact opposite experience. When I buy an expensive pair of sunglasses, I either lose them or break them. I buy a cheap pair at the grocery store or somewhere else, and I have them forever.

I don't do anything different - just break/lose the expensive ones!

I don't know why you'd get rid of that lush mane! That's some great lettuce. You might be neck and neck with King for best hair on the board.

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Starting some summer projects with my son and our first one is nearing completion. Its a Raspberry Pi Retro Arcade. It can plug into any of our current consoles (you can see it running a Nintendo Switch) and once I get the emulator going we can play Atari, Arcade, NES, SNES, Sega, and pretty much any console game up to about the Playstation 2. Fun little project for kids or the young at heart. I'm going to play the crap out of this thing:
