Mission Accomplished!
Finally, my mom has accomplished her mission! Yesterday, she has found her long-lost sister in Monte Vista, Colorado.
Here is an interesting story. My mom’s family is from Colorado. In 1940, my oldest aunt passed away at 23-day old in Colorado and she died of pneumonia unexpectedly. My grandparents buried her with their handworks somewhere in Monte Vista. Then, they moved to California. In 1970, my grandfather returned to Colorado and visited her. He inserted a wooden cross at the head of the grave and he innovated her grave area. Then, he left for California. (We are not sure if that wooden cross is still same from 1970’s. We will find out soon.)
In 1999, my grandfather passed away and my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2002 or 2005. She is still alive and fighting a battle with Alzheimer's disease. She could not able to provide some information about her baby due to her disease. My mom and uncle could not find some information and it was lost. They had a long-lost sister for years.
Therefore, my mom decided to do a lot of research for months and she got some information from somewhere in Colorado. Last Wednesday, my parents flew to Colorado to visit family in Parker for a week and they drove down to Monte Vista for 4 hours. She finally found her long-lost sister and she met her for the first time.
For me, I was overjoyed to hear her good news about their long-lost sister. My mom has accomplished her mission in Colorado. I am beyond proud of my mom and it was amazing how hard she has worked to get the mission done. Love you, Mom.
