Default McShay: Seahawks Will Take Sanchez at #4

Hopefully this is true. I don't hate Sanchez, I think he'll be a decent QB, but we have too many other needs to take a QB in the 1st round.

Things can change on a moment's notice at this point in the process, and only hours after my original projection appeared I was told by reliable sources that Seattle will pull the trigger on Sanchez at No. 4 overall. That will send ripples all the way down to the New York Jets at No. 17.

The Jets seemed a good bet to trade up to No. 8 in order to take Sanchez but the price for getting him just got much steeper, and New York is likely headed back to the drawing board.

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I hope he is no where near 12. I also hope we are nowhere near where he is.

I don't know, but Raji is rumored to be a high probability going to the Browns

I'd think it means Monroe/Andre Smith will fall. One of them will get taken by Cincy, the other could fall down to Washington or beyond.
    If not me, who?

I'm thinking Orakpo is a top 10 pick regardless. I'll say again, if he falls to 12, I think we have to pounce. I don't care if he's never played standing up before.

In semi-related news...Bills need a OT all of a sudden after trading Peters to Philly for the #28 etc...I'm thinking they go OT at 11 and get their pass rusher at 28.

the way the board *looks* to be shaping up, that would be the smart way to go. if the Seahawks don't go OT at #4, Buffalo would likely get the #3 OT in the draft. the biggest impact on us with this trade (and Seattle maybe going QB) is it hampers us if we want to trade down.
