clady bombed his wonderlic test. And i was one of the ones that said are you sure we want this guy protecting our qbs blind side. A guy who got an 11.

Wonderlics dont mean as much as they show. Kinda like the 40.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I guess I'll believe those guys first.

You can find negative's on every prospect profile comming into the draft.

Jackson leads this pole. Do ya think we can find some negative draft stuff on him??

    Bet we can.
Wait so just because Rey Maualuga is the #1 rated Linebacker...he isn't going to be a bust?

Wasn't Joey Harrington the #1 rated QB? That worked out...

    Oh so was Alex Smith.....

LB David Pollock for the Bengals?

    Bobby Carpenter????

That's fine, people can have their opinion. Just don't flame my opinion for not liking Rey Maualuga...

You are right. Brian Griese had a 39 and John Elway had a 29. BTW Jeff George had a 10.

    your right we can

Negatives: Bit of a "tweener" for 4-3 teams. ... Lacks a great burst upfield, closing speed and the repertoire of pass-rush moves to be a dynamic outside pass rusher. ... Marginal speed to close. ... Does not change direction quickly in the backfield to prevent quarterbacks stepping up or getting yards with their feet.

I have yet to see one of them........

Maualuga reminds many of another former USC linebacker, Junior Seau. Maualuga has great size and power. He may lack sideline to sideline speed, but does have good short-area quickness. He is surprisingly smooth for such a big linebacker. Maualuga has improved his instincts as a blitzer. Maualuga is a great middle linebacker prospect and in the right system could emerge as an even better pro than college player.
    http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/...aluga?id=79852
Negatives: Has a tendency to overpursue, opening holes in the defense for quick and savvy ballcarriers to exploit. ... Too often relies on his explosive hitting to knock down ballcarriers, rather than wrapping up to make secure tackles.
    http://www.draftcountdown.com/scouti...y-Maualuga.php
    Weaknesses:
Does not have elite timed speed...Inconsistent...Can be too aggressive at times...Always looking to deliver the knockout blow and will miss some tackles...Does not always take proper angles...Lacks fluid hips...May struggle to match up in coverage...Average change of direction skills...Range is somewhat limited...Will get caught out of position at times... Still immature...Ran into some trouble off the field.
    http://warroomreport.com/index.php?o...d=361&Itemid=1
Weakness: His aggressiveness can be his downfall at times as he goes for the big hit instead of wrapping up…tends to over pursue and run himself out of plays…still needs to improve his play recognition skills…timed speed is only average…will struggle to handle man coverage, as he can be a bit stiff…concerns about his maturity level, especially after some off the field issues and hits that injured teammates at USC…more of a “thumper”….

and BTW lynch you only posted negatives heres postives and negatives of Rey

    Overview

A more consistent playmaker than Keith Rivers -- selected 10th overall by the Bengals in 2008 -- Maualuga might be the most explosive hitter in the draft. Blessed with a prototypical combination of size and athleticism, Maualuga has the speed to beat the running back wide and the bulk to be a punisher on the inside. Maualuga impressed scouts with his ability to rush the passer during drills at the Senior Bowl and delivered six sacks as a junior (zero as a senior). His penchant for big plays in coverage make him one of the few inside linebackers of this class capable of playing all three downs. A three-time all-conference selection and 2009 All-American, Maualuga is a difference-maker worthy of a top-20 selection in the 2009 draft.

you see that he's capable of covering, and a three down LB, this is his official scouting report, BUT WAIT THERES MORE!

    Analysis

Positives: Good initial quickness off the snap. ... Quickly gets to top speed, flashing rare downhill explosiveness for the position. ... Reads the action quickly. ... Willing to take on blocks and has the strength and hand technique to shed quickly. ... Good lateral quickness to evade blockers and has the speed to beat backs to the flanks. ... Gets good depth on his pass drop and is quick to close on the ball. ... Punishing hitter with four career forced fumbles. ... Productive pass rusher with the speed to close on even mobile quarterbacks. ... Can break down in space to make the secure open-field tackle.

    and unfortunately

Negatives: Has a tendency to overpursue, opening holes in the defense for quick and savvy ballcarriers to exploit. ... Too often relies on his explosive hitting to knock down ballcarriers, rather than wrapping up to make secure tackles.

Any combination of those four players would make us a better football team. I'd prefer a Brown/Jackson defensive punch; but I'd love to throw Moreno in there as well. Rey would be #4 on my list of those players.
