    Default Vontae Davis...

What can you guys tell me about him..

I know he has elite body for CB and that his brains and attitude arent ideal.

What else. Can he be the next champ bailey? I dont know much about him and the insider on espn i was using expired, so i cant read up on him...

I mainly ask, because i have a funny feeling that this guy is going to be a superstar. I have nothing to base this on, or anything like that. Just a feeling and wanted to see if it was legit, or just the mexican food i had earlier.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Can he be the next champ? Is he that good, or just a good solid guy who is a me first like the pac man- only not as stupid (guns, hired hits etc.)

The guy has all the physical tools to be very good.

To bad he has scrambled eggs between his ears.

i think he's the best CB in this draft, i am not high on Malcolm Jenkins (he's antrel Rolle)

But saying he's the next champ bailey.... that might be saying too much

One thing i just noticed though underratted why do you want evander hood at 18?

million dollar body, ten cent head. . . . homeboy, i wouldn't bet fifty bucks that he'll be the next chris gamble-- if he's the next champ, i'll send you fifty million. . . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Because we need a NT, and unless we trade up in the 2nd we dont stand a chance to land brace. I think hood is a big strong run stuffer who could eat up some blockers and would allow us to use our 2nd for moore, or a trade for peppers or a faller prospect like sintim? (not sure if he would fall, but someone.) then we could use our 3rds for RB and OL.....

That might work. I dont know much about taylor and now that i cant get insider i cant read up on him. BUt if he is as good as hood that would make perfect sense to me.

    Overview

A fire hydrant run-stopper in the middle of the defense, he can collapse the pocket and aggravate quarterbacks, all while making life easier for his teammates on the line. He flashed skills as a freshman, and was a starter in the middle the past three seasons. Much was expected out of Taylor after earning a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2007 (55 tackles, 8.5 for loss, 3.5 sacks), but his play noticeably dropped off as a senior (35 tackles, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks). Taylor's push up the middle is certain to intrigue teams looking for a plugger on the D-line, but his lack of improvement as a senior and struggles at the East-West Shrine Game put him in the middle or late portion of the second day in this draft.

    Analysis

Positives: Prime NFL nose tackle candidate. ... Plays with good leverage, keeping his pad level low and square and getting his hands high and inside. ... Does not move much against double teams, holding his ground against the run. ... When fresh, he gets off the ball and pushes the center into the backfield to blow up inside runs. ... On occasion he can quickly knife through the A-gap to get pressure on the quarterback. ... Will chase downfield at times. ... Plays with a mean streak. ... Voted team captain in 2008.

Negatives: Short and not in great shape. ... Does not shed blocks when straight-up on his man, but makes plays when lined up on the shoulder of the center or guard. ... Better conditioning could help him get off the ball and collapse the pocket consistently. ... Doesn't get his hands up often enough to break up passes. ... Exposed a bit at the East-West Shrine Game for being a bit of a one-trick pony. ... Makes piles in short-yardage situations but does not stay on his feet consistently enough to stop the runner.

Sounds good. He seems like a great first day prospect who fell due to a less than stellar senior year, kinda like W. Moore. Has all the talent just an off year....I like!

If we could nab him in the 4, then that would open up a lot of other options for us at 2 and 3. I hope the coaches see this the same way.
